Im not a sosa fan or cubs fan but I dont think he used roids. Theres no evidence, there was a "leaked" steroid test with sosas name on it positive by the same company david ortiz rumored to test postive for. But hey He was a good ballplayer.

The circumstances surrounding the corking incident are never discussed. I was obsessed and watching every Cubs game on WGN at that point so I know what happened. He had been hit in the head by a Pirates pitcher weeks before the corking incident. After that he struggled and was very timid and afraid in the batters box. I genuinely believe he used the corked bat to try to regain his confidence. I don’t believe he ever used a corked bat before or after that. It was a very tough stretch for him. He deserves to be in the HOF he and McGwire literally saved baseball.
