40ish cm bream on a tiny miniature pen fishing rod off ebay. Caught using roast beef on my lunch break at work. Pics and a vid to prove it 👍

Best fishing fluke was a 21kg mackerel jagged thru the eyeball only and landed without a gaff, 1st half of fight was the usual pump and wind then i saw how it was hooked 2nd half of fight was like i was using 1lb line, i was so gentle, changed my whole day, went from 1 trout before lunch to catching that mackie and 127trout after lunch. Cheers for the great vids mate

Another class one mate ,love it . My uncle used go across to the pub while i kept guard of the eel rods when i was young and he stayed a bit long one night so i walked over to check up on him. He sat me down for a shandy and over an hour later we went back to find a nice fresh water trout swimming around on my rod . tasted sweet and was my first wild brown trout . Keep it up sammy your a legend bud. Cheers

Hi Sammy, The exact same thing happened to me in South Africa. Also fishing for live bait when a Cute (Spanish mackerel) took the live bait. The hook in his mouth broke loose but caught him on a second hook on the body. Also took me 22min and was also a 7.5kg. I relived my catch when watching yours. You just can't explain the feeling in catching something that size on 5kg tackle without any leader line etc. Good job.

Hey Sammy i had your experience today . I was fishing the small bay rhs of the Jumpinpin Bar. Landed a 42cm bream around the weed beds. This was one crazy bream. My line was entangled all around it's fins. It didn't have the hook anywhere in it's body. Just tangled up in the line. Bloody amazing. Been fishing for 40 years and never seen that happen before.

Wicked stuff mate. What a wild hook up! loved the videos so far. Learning loads of hand tips and tricks. I may have one for you for your next Spanish? Try skinning the Mack's head to tail once you have the fillets off. I've noticed its 10x easier following the sinew grain. Keep up the great work.

When I first saw the title of this video, FLUKE I thought you hooked up with a big Halibut or Flounder but your playing Cowboys and Mackerels, lassoing your Spanish by the tail on such light tackle was epic since you couldn't turn his head to turn his runs.... Great fight, great fish❗😜❗

I put my rod down on the pontoon to untangle my son only for a fish to hit the lure and pull the rod into the drink. After a brief moment of contemplation, I jumped in... saw the rod on the bottom of the canal and swam and picked it up. Then climbed back onto the pontoon and reeled in a 40cm bream. Middle of winter too.

When i was 13(27 years ago), had a cheap 2 piece rod with a live herring on it trying to catch wolfherring for bait. I caught a wolfherring then whilee winding in, it got smashed by a 75cm doggy mackerel and my 2 pieces rod snapped instantly. I carfully fought it for 30 minutes, was able to land the macky, got the second piece of my rod back and my parents bought me a decent one piece rod. 😀
