I still remember the day I first heard that song. It aired for some seconds in a music channel and I was shocked. I was hooked by the power that this song has. I was repeating that few seconds the rest of the day (I didn't have internet access then) and when it aired fully I recorded it and I was blasting in all day. Gaga and RedOne made one of the best pop songs of all time. Pure perfection.

That percussion is just so...rich and gritty and dirty. I love it. Almost industrial, with that dry, heavy kick. And oof, that bass distortion, perfect touch. That synth buildup leading into the chorus has always been one of my favorite elements of this song. So many high frequency synths here, but that crescendo adds so much color! And the way she uses her voice to create so much character and expression. I always knew there was an insane amount of reverb on her here, but my goodness! So much atmosphere. I think The Fame Monster is still my favorite collection of hers. It felt darker and more raw than even The Fame. And this song is probably constantly fighting for my top from her. Thanks for breaking it down!

@4:40 THIS SYNTHS PART IS MY ALL TIME FAVE !!!! I vividly remember detecting it when the song came out and it always pinch my heart everytime i hear it ! 10:06 The Fame Monster which is her deluxe version of her debut The Fame, is an Ep with Bad Romance and the others but is considered Gaga’s second studio album, so BR is not from her debut, but Just Dance, Love Game etc is ❤❤❤

Okay yes thank you ahah, the terminology for these two albums has always rattled me (no idea why, it's really not all that complex 😆). Just blows my mind the amount of hits she whipped up so quickly. Insane.
@narcisosanz8137Ай бұрын
@@sammymccormack_it is kinda complex, cause though it was released as an EP, it was also seen as a second part to her debut and they also released a complete version with both stacked together as one album. You can call it pizza and i'll take two pieces anyway
@emmaroid946019 күн бұрын
@@sammymccormack_ So it's technically her debut, an EP and a standalone album. Her record label considers it to be an album meeting her obligations for her record deal. It initially just started as an extension to The Fame and was sold as a separate EP at the same time but by the time Born This Way was coming it was considered an album and given the monicker LG2.
