Right? Like seriously, so much of the shit that's happened in politics over the last decade is so off the walls ridiculous that comedians would have been like "nah that's too far" before it. Politics is fucking hysterical. When someone says "politics isn't funny" what they really mean is "you just made something I agree with look ridiculous so now I'm pissed at you".

Every comic has a mental heckler that they plant somewhere in the room and prep themselves for that one to speak out, so when a real heckler shows up the heckler's already in the trap.

What I mean is that good comics will imagine that there's a heckler who knows exactly what buttons to push in them, and then write up or develop on the fly the right response to shut them down. Another reason why a good comic works on self-deprecating humor is because of this inner heckler.

Jordan actually did take in refugees (much of their population is Palestinian). It’s a bit different because 1. Mexican immigrants are not refugees, in which case most Americans probably would support taking them in, though maybe not Texans 2. Egypt and the other Arab states including Jordan bear at least partial responsibility for the status of Palestinian refugees because they started the war that led to them being displaced in 1948 by invading Israel after the Palestinian leadership rejected the partition plan and launched a civil war to stop it, and then with the exception of Jordan, kept them in bad conditions intentionally to pressure Israel in hope of resettling then there after destroying it, before they realized that was impossible and reluctantly made peace in return for concessions. Lebanon banned Palestinians from working, Egypt banned them from leaving Gaza when they controlled it, etc.

I just discovered this BRILLIANT comedian and I'm so glad I did. I'm definitely gonna follow his videos from now on. He is very intelligent, sharp and funny which is what I love about him. I admire comedians who are knowledgeable about politics and know how to make political jokes. He has my absolute support.
