Majority of the Samoans islands (both the Independent State and the Territory of American Samoa) - most of their land is owned by families. The beaches, attractions - are owned by them and they are the caretakers - NOT the Government. And tourists arent the only people who get charged - locals get charged too. Many westerners like to say that the "public" attractions in their countries are "free" but theyre not - your taxes and council rates go into their upkeep and maintenance.

Samoa is different from American Samoa when it comes to tourists attractions because it’s not government controlled. The lands in Upolu where the waterfalls are and the To sua Trench is private land and family owned therefore you have to pay to be on their property . In American Samoa there’s the National Park of American Samoa which is land leased by the U.S Federal Government from the Natives or villages of the islands and those tourists attractions are free.

You gotta understand alot of those waterfalls or beaches are village own or private own so thats how they make there money be safe even local people got to pay

@@EscapewithEmily11 thank you! Yes! I glad Ifound your channel few months ago and just like I mentioned before videos feel so real. I really liked Vanuatu one and when you go to local store, get snacks and review them. I think it’s really good idea. Can’t wait to watch Tuvalu episode this weekend ( my schedule is busy and I can watch KZbin only on weekends). I’m going to Fiji in 2 months, was gonna stop by Samoa/American Samoa/ Tonga , thought island hop is pretty easy but looks like it’s not and it is expensive. I’ll stay in Fiji and maybe take a day trip to surrounding islands. Greetings! Can’t wait you to complete all the countries.

Wasn't expecting that casual nail salon visit during your tourist activities. Do you get your lashes done at various places abroad too, considering that more things can go wrong with those?
@EscapewithEmily119 ай бұрын
I’ve only gotten them done in Bali and they were extremely affordable but they only filled in the lashes a little bit. You get what you pay for 🤷🏼♀️

Emily & Jason, love your video but sorry about your unsavory experience in Samoa. Please come back. To "The Curry House" You are only entitled to charge your customers according to the rates published on your menus, irrespective of inflation or any price variations. Whenever your prices increase, your menus should also be altered or replaced to reflect the changes. Do not charge your customers more than what your menus stipulate. That is illegal. A foreigner running a business in Samoa is fine, but please don't give my beloved Samoa a bad name by overcharging our valued tourists with more than your published rates.
