I wouldn't go that far! Connect with what exactly? Are you suggesting your grandchildren need to listen to unproven claims of God and baseless assertions that Samory makes? Get real. Don't get me wrong, I love the music, sound and he can sing. But the 'holy' songs are just wildass assertions that aren't based on fact or evidence. Spare your grandchildren the time listening to that. If you mean the slavery vibes, yes by all means let them hear that because it needs to be told, just spare the other stuff. Peace out!

"Black Gold" is one of the two BEST **roots reggae** albums to come out of Jamaica in 2017. The other is "Music Never Dies" by Lutan Fyah. Lots of other great music but many of them are not really roots reggae albums, including "Chronology" and "Stony Hill", which are really crossover, commercialized reggae/dancehall albums. Check out our full review of "Black Gold".

Singing these songs for the Lost Africans, where have they gone ? Hear how the instruments all call to each other! Is as the collaboration between a moving car's transmission parts and the engine, but this case these instruments are only making musical moves! Powa! Perhaps the best authentic roots reggae album that people have never heard. Is there another roots reggae album of greater lyrical and instrumental quality? Not Chronology. Not Stony Hill, which were both commercialized albums.

Chronology and new Protoje are pretty strong roots records.

I haven't listened to the new Protoje album in full yet but I did a review of Chronology. Check it out and let me know if you agree or disagree with my assessment of the album. It's a great music album but I wouldn't call it a roots reggae album.
@gilbatzri6 жыл бұрын
@@iriereviews I will check it for sure. I think the Chronixx record leans slightly towards pop, but to me it is pretty roots, it is a protest record with elements of faith, the Jr. Gong record particularly that living it up song really bother me, not sure what to make of that record.
