Really nice collection. if they were mine I would have to be desitute to sell them. The GF1000 goes for serious money at $3000 plus now so its always going to be valuble. I am going for a GF777 as it was the boombox i wanted 40 odd years ago. Thanks for showing them

God i want a GF 1000 bad, i have a GF 999 and i love it but man does the 1000 have the perfect look! I've also heard that t=he 1000 sounds slightly better than the rest is that true?

Hello Yes the gf 1000 is the best of the sharp GF series, but the speaker are making the sound. There ratet at 3,2 ohm and all the others at 4, thats the reason for a little more power. You can try to find white speakers out of a gf 8787 and try it. My older verson of my GF777 got two of them and it was a better sound. The 999 and GF1000 are technically identical, except for the speakers. Try it, if you want (-:

It's crazy how technology works. I have always wanted one of these growing up in the 1980s.I couldn't afford the "big boys" when mowing lawns, but had a few smaller radios. Walking into our local electronics stores as a young lad, I drooled over the boombox section and in the large speaker demo rooms. I always wanted the (older) Cewin Vega 15" floor standing speakers. Oh, how sexy those looked. Today, unfortunately most Bluetooth speakers sound worlds better than any boombox from the 1980s. Same goes for the speakers, why get giant outdated floor standing speakers, when you can get much smaller speakers with a separate 12"-15" sub, with better crossovers, amps, drivers, and tuned enclosures that sound amazing. The kid in me will never die, and I will always have a soft spot for yesterdays gold gems (such as these getto-blasters), but times have changed. It took a long, long time for me to embrace the fact that these times are gone (sadly) and that digital has walked right past analog audio. With all that said, I do wish manufacturers started making boomboxes with modern electronics. Would they sell? It depends on what is incorporated into them. If they made them with modern Bluetooth technology (current is BT5.3) Give them at least 1TB of RAM so you can put "most of your music" on them. Expand ability for future tech Latest driver's for outstanding sound reproduction. Think about how the JBL Bluetooth boombox series sounds (1-2 and 3). Look, oh the look. You have got to make the HQ drivers with chrome dust caps. Nothing looks better!! Make the AM/FM radio with top tier tech. Give AM/MW a twin coil 200mm ferrite antenna (tunable) Give FM the best sensitivity and selectivity out of the latest DSP chip, like what is in the Eton field, with the lowest noise floor possible.

Hello, There are M90 bluetooth- speaers out from newwaavetoys newwavetoys.com/products/m90-mini-blaster Those little speakers have a nice decent sound and FM Radio. In my lifetime, i havent seen an 80th boombox in a shop. A friend was the reason to collect more and more and my favorites are those big GF's... but ive never paid more than ~ 400$ for each, because i had to repair them. AND THIS is the reason, or the soul for me to collect... its a little passion to repair a non working radio and after a lot of work, it plays musik like a new radio
