Good evening Thomas. Once again it was a great pleasure to watch and enjoy your epic film. I really like that you show many faces and characters. This is easier in Asia, because here people threaten to smash the camera very quickly...I also really like markets like this because there is so much to look at. Playing with perspectives and changes in tempo gives the whole thing a wonderful dynamic. Only the "dont smoke" clip is very short and I was expecting something related to this shot afterwards. But otherwise everything is of a piece and the BGM also supports this place wonderfully. I see how your trained eye captures everything attentively. I think the fun of capturing everything and not primarily buying something is also your favorite activity. I am also amazed at how many people still wear masks, even though I was able to observe this in Japan in the pre-Corona period. The slow motion of the legs and the following scene are great! My favorite shot is the old man sitting on the ground (in front of chicken eggs, right?) Your film took us wonderfully into this lively, colorful scene. In short: a cinematic delight! Hello Shiso. A thousand thanks for your great comment. I'll reply a bit random from what's on top of my head. That "No smoking" sign, I first put it right in front of a guy smoking, but it wouldnt be "fair", as I actually shot that guy at a different location, so..... but got your point. Hmmm.... Chicken eggs AND duck eggs, yes! ^^ (I wasn't entirely comfortable with the egg-man, he gave me his "crazy eye" when I filmed him, haha) This video is probably giving a slightly wrong impression of the number of people wearing masks now, because approx 25% of the footage is some I took about a year ago. But I wasn't happy about the final so I never uploaded it, I felt I could do better. So instead I started all over shooting a few weeks ago, and when I did the editing of this "new" version, I added a few of the old shots I found to be good enough. And yes, you are completely right, whenever I go someplace, I always see it from a video-perspective, what is the essence - the must film parts of the place, etc.... Once again many many thanks for your great comments and support, it's highly appreciated. Warm greetings, Thomas

From a cinematic point of view, it would have been non smoking and the man smoking, but I understand those considerations. It doesn't surprise me that the man has a disgruntled look on his face. But you still got that important shot... smile. Good to know that your mask pictures are not current and it is time to put something together in the film. I appreciate your cinematic creativity. That's what it's all about in the end. For me, everything in my films isn't always as chronological as it seems. You should definitely take these freedoms in order to achieve creativity and creative freedom. So I absolutely agree with you! I'm also happy that we can communicate so openly about it.
