Lol my husband is Khmer but he hates it he said it has a fishy smell to it. Your husband is such a gentleman to give it a try even though it doesn’t have a good reputation in Japan.

Tu lui fais goûter avec la viande, la sauce et le riz, c'est mieux que la feuille toute seule, il changera peut-être d'avis. 😄
My husband doesn't like that too. He also Cambodian .

My dad is Khmer and he doesn’t like it either. My siblings don’t like it as well so it’s just me & my mom who eat it. That’s okay, more for us. I don’t force it on my family but I will at least make them try it once or twice… 🤣 because how will they know if they like it if they don’t try it? They can’t go based off smells because I know many Chinese people who eat & love stinky tofu which has a terribIe smell as well. I can eat Prahok but I can’t eat stinky tofu… 😂
We grow some here in Hawaii. I am not a big fan of the fish mint. But the only way I would eat it, is with Banh Ciao . lol
