when a video makes you wanna grab your headphones you know its gonna be good. Sadly the naked ear cant pick up all the magical harmonies you are doing here

I grew up surrounded by artists and jazz musicians, and The Singers Unlimited were always playing in the background. I learned this song from them. As a matter of fact, Bonnie Herman would become my mentor. I didn’t have a mom growing up as she passed away a few days after I was born, so I would hang onto every note Bonnie Herman sang. I studied her breathing, and soft, come hither voice, and I actually learned more than singing from her. I learned how to be feminine, how to speak, and I learned that our speaking voice should be as a gentle as our singing voice. Just from listening to her sing. And this was one of my favorite songs they did. Maybe you could do "Since You Asked." They did it so well. I bet you would do it better. OR.... maybe you could do "Jennifer's Rabbit." Oh wow. I would love to hear you do that one.

Sam, you bring me to tears with the pipe organ quality and power of your voice. Honestly, when I hear you sing, I can't help wanting to wrap my arms around you and love you forever. Your hair is epic, by the way. Keep enchanting us with your talent and your angelic self.

Listening to this version of this beautiful song took me way back to the time when the soundtrack of Oliver first came out. My mother got it for me, as she did with just about every sound track of every musical in the 60s, 70s. I listened to it over and over and poured over the photos on the album. They are forever embedded in my brain along with the music. It just struck me like a ton of bricks how blessed I was to know the sweet hello that was meant for only me. Thank you Sam.

I have listened to this piece probably more than a hundred times and still hear new things. How do you manage to hear/project these sounds before they are there remains a mystery to me. Is it by experimentation, multiple go and retreat process to see what fits best? It's not only the intricate harmony, the timing, but even the seemingly insignificant sounds of the far background, sounding like orchestral violins, that add up to the quality of the final product. And yet, though so complex, it's clear and only magnifies the melody and message of this modest song.
