The key to good mashed taters is to use russet or yukon gold and don't cut them. Put them into a pot of cold water and bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer until cooked.. drain and then back in the pot to steam off any excess water, then mash. The water is what makes them a bit sticky and gooey.

Amy I remember when rotisserie chickens were $2.99 at Walmart and Sam’s Club. Prices sure have risen over a short period huh? Especially on convenience foods.

I am also a big fan of salad kits as everything you need for the salad is in the bag and you don’t have to hunt around the store for different ingredients or buy an ingredient that you might only use once!!! Also you can get a rotisserie chicken to go with a salad kit and dinner is served without much effort on your part!!!

Hi Amy! I think you mentioned frying chicken in your meal planning video. I just wanted to recommend the Louisiana crispy chicken fry mix. We get it from Walmart. I don't like the mess of frying chicken, so my husband usually does it, but just put the fry mix in a large ziplock bag, season your chicken, drop it in the bag, shake and fry. Its delicious!

Good morning Amy. I don't know if you've tried it or not, but whenever I make mashed potatoes in the water that I boil the potatoes in, I always put a little bit of chicken bouillon in it. It just gives it a little more flavor. You could try that sometime

😊I use miracle ship for salads like chicken salad, ham salad, deviled eggs, etc. My husband makes an extremely good Turkey salad with leftover holiday Turkey. We buy the gallon about this time of year also. It way more economical. No store brand tastes like Miracle Whip.

Amy you should try this dip for fruit. Softened block of cram cheese 1 jar of kraft marshmallow 1 top of vanilla mix until creamy. Dip any fruit you like in it. I like banana strawberry and apples. So goood.....

Every time I go to Sam’s club I buy a roasted chicken. You can’t beat the price for the size chicken you get. I use it for all different meals. It makes delicious homemade chicken and dumplings or chicken noodle soup. We eat it with potatoes and coleslaw. Easy quick meals.

Do you have a trader joes around you, because their coconut milk and cream are a good price and good. Also, have you heard of thrive market? It has specialty its for dairy free items and coconut milk. When I go shopping I also like to shop around for the best quality for its price;)

I think Miracle Whip taste terrible. We have always used Dukes. Everyone that I know uses Duke’s except my husband’s family and they use Blue Plate, which I also don’t like. I got my husband to try Duke’s and he agreed that it was much better and he tried to get his family to try it. Your Aldi has better products than ours. Our Aldi’s is awful 😞

In Texas we use Hellmans which is very similar to Dukes. I use Mayo for certain things but miracle whip in salads.

I wish i could of been half the mother you are . As a grandma, now raise 3 grandchildren, with grandpa ,he does the work. I have a illness that keeps me down most of the time, i mean down .They call me the crazy silly grandma, because I do it on purpose,so they will remember me . They love it and i love being silly with them . But i would love to do half of the things you do. I guess I did do these things with their parents. I just miss doing it. I've been tasting a horseradish taste with the Walmart off brand. Like I just bought it on a whim because I used to love the off brands of Miracle Whip, so I thought why not? Umm nope not if that taste is there, I'll pass.
