It's deeper than that. The Catholic church was controlled by the Medici's and so it was pushing church tithes hard. Lutheranism and protestantism was supposed to be a popular revolt against this practice. King Henry 8th was 'the defender of the faith' and he hated martin luther. So isn't it convenient we get this convenient story of his own rebellion against the church to set up his own church, whilst the fact that he abolished the prohibition of Usury rule? in other words it was a plan to use the j*** to do their dirty work and here we are today. i myself am ex muslim athiest now. ive spent most of my life studying abrahimic scripture aswell as other religions. So even though i reject the deity, i do believe it to be a real thing. a higher dimensional collective thoughtform but one merged with the monkey mind complex and hence, evil. i believe Jesus himself accused the rabbis of worshipping satan literally. When Jesus said 'he was a murderer from the beginning', I thought of the amalek story right there. So we're still witnessing this 'deity' at play. Revelations BEAST system IS Rome extended to the colonial powers that are, afterall, former roman colonies and hence also Rome. However the people sitting on top, shapiro's people, are the wh*** of babylon for sure. what they dont realise is, the Beast is controlling 'her', not the otherway round. personally i think the people running the vatican, the supposed Jesuits, are the real movers and the rest is a decoy to keep us distracted.

@JorgeOchoa1110 ай бұрын
The sad irony of this statement by Hitchens, that echoes around in my head, is that it was also to be fully expected that nary a soul has ever been mentally and emotionally equipped to properly observe exactly what Jesus and the gospels are portraying, and how qualitatively different such thoughts on god are from anything else that can be presented from the human record. It’s the only time I see a thousands of year old religion and their text get totally turned upside down (along with all human power establishments) by a long awaited “messiah”, who came to tell them that they’ve been asked to love and not have done so, so here is how to truly Love. That Gods best endgame is Love. And then, that “messiah” gets killed for loving that much. I mean seriously. Find me something just like that. In either historical or fictional stories. One that says that if humans live by the sword (violence) we will continue to die by it, and that’s Gods will. Find me that, please. Because i keep looking and looking and looking. Only in a world where we are half a chromosome away from chimps, can we as humans conflate the words and acts of someone like Jesus, with….everything else.

That's not a loving plan: it's the most barbaric place ever consciously invented. Dante Alighieri went to lengths to show how absurd the idea is. Christians don't like James. He also said that Gentiles should initially be taught the basic Noahide laws (including dietary restrictions), and that they'd learn the rest of the laws from street preachers, and in temples, at a time when there was no book of the New Testament, so what they'd be learning is Jewish laws. Generations of Jewish Christian leaders in Jerusalem stuck to Jewish laws, until Roman Catholics came and ousted them. Early Jewish Christians also didn't seem to believe Jesus was God, and some even considered Paul a false prophet. Also, where you'd expect to find the earliest versions of Gentile Christianity (places like Antioch), they leaned more towards Arianism, which also didn't believe Jesus was God. Catholics gave them the standard options of conversion, death, or exile. Rome conquered Christianity, and transformed it into what it wanted, rather than the other way around. They started the arguments for "just" wars, as well as justifying private property ownership and wealth accumulation.

The Catholic Church teaches that all people are to persue the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity, and obedience insofar as their state in life allows it. Yeah, it teaches, but doesn't live it, big hypocrites. Realized that at 14 y. when reading Name of the Rose and the debates of the different monks. I don't care that the little monk or nun has to give up possesions, when the big organization does the exact opposite amd enriches itself throughout history. "But they are charitable", again, the people at the last step may be, but if the organisation didn't steal that much, we might need less charity in the first place. Like e.x. church is exempted from tax, why? That's a big indirect support that even people not believing in the religion have to pay with their incomes. Why not directly support people with a better social security net with my money rather than a big chunk of the money going to fill Vatican banks?

"It's not money that's regarded as the primary sin..." The Bible literally says it is not possible for a rich man to go to heaven.
@snapgab10 ай бұрын
Yeah I actually struggle to think of anything that the bible condemns as harshly as being rich. Obviously being a murderer is a sin, lots of things are sins, but they're things you can potentially redeem yourself for, and the bible doesn't ever say that redeeming yourself for murder is as difficult as a camel passing through the eye of a needle, like the bible says about rich people.
@David.Eng.10 ай бұрын
“It’s not money that’s regarded as the primary sin….. it’s love of money….and that means the prioritization of money over god.” You need to listen to his entire point…
@dr.zoidberg866610 ай бұрын
@@David.Eng. The entire point is wrong, I cut it at the point where he was wrong. The Bible thinks being rich is so irredeemably bad that there's literally nothing a rich person can do to be forgiven & go to heaven.
@GillfigGarstang10 ай бұрын
@@snapgabWell ~technically~ someone with enough money could have a camel rendered down into a fine slurry and then have it fired through the eye of a needle in the form of a high pressure jet of liquid; so obviously the writers of that passage meant that being rich and getting into heaven is hard unless you are so rich that you can throw enough money at charities and theocratic Christian lobbyist organisations to game the selection process for heaven.

I’m a religion and history scholar (PhD) …I’ve heard these arguments before, and the only way you can say what they are saying is if you don’t know how to read. You can disagree with scripture, you can interpret the text itself, but this is just making shit up about what the text of scripture says. Like it’s simply just not what the words say or what words mean. I’d rather Peterson and everyone who says this actually have the balls to say it see what the Bible says and just think it’s wrong. As for Shapiro, the idea that Christianity made a mistake by embracing poverty, that’s nuts. St Francis mother Teresa etc. they didn’t just make the shit up
