What about when stiches worn out due to friction? I am working on river cruise ship in Europe and when we receive new ropes they are spliced with classic method. But i don’t find this method on youtube. There are a few but none of them like factory.

If the lock stitching is too worn it can be replaced by new stitching twine.

This method can be used for splicing pendant towing slings. We recommend this method for AmSteel ropes under 2’’d and Saturn ropes 1-¼’’d and smaller.

@@SamsonRope thanks sir. Normally we are using 15 mtrs ,44 mm pennant dyneema rope with 150 mtrs tow rope. Lot of times pennant is parted, can we re splice this method which u have shown in video. But my pennant is 24 strand ( 12×2)

@@captainofship1979 That method will work just fine. Be sure to have at least 3 fid lengths buried with the correct taper. Rather than removing 6 marked strands at mark 1, you will be removing 12 marked strands.

Yes! This is the correct splice for Ice Tail.

Does someone have to sign off on these splices..? Ont health and saftey / comp are pretty picky..just curious..because they can bust us for lots of stuff like this...example..no tag...no good..
