Getting a little tired of cell phone reviews that concentrate so much on their cameras. There are reviews on actual cameras that don't spend that much time. When I'm looking at a cell phone review I primarily want to know what is the call quality like; ease of texting, either by voice or by keyboard; internet speeds and ease of scrolling for emails and the web; and the battery life. Camera quality can't be so important that it nearly takes priority over almost everything else.

Camera is more important to me than phone calls, as I barely make a call on my phone. I have this moto G stylus 5g 2022 (got it 2 days ago) and I like a lot of the stuff but the camera is meh in some of the functions, plus the lack of stereo speakers is sad as well, and at 4gb on my version I find apps sometimes open then close immediately. At $350 Canadian so like under $300 USD it's a good deal but I'll likely still take it back to Costco and upgrade to like a Samsung s21 FE or maybe a Google 6a from FB market place new and sealed. I appreciate camera reviews. I just saw 50mp with 3 cameras and thought it would be good, it's ok. Had I seen reviews I'd have picked a different phone. I just didn't think to look up a moto G review until there were things I wanted to know if it did like my old phone after I got it.

Now I just purchased the moto g stylus 5g and for what you get, it's actually a good value. No, it's not a flagship but it has more pros than cons. 8gb of ram which is expandable to 10gb. You get a sd card slot, a 256 gb card inside, decent camera set up, headphone jack and a very good clean stock android experience. The 695 processor is a strong processor. It performs well. This photo is solid overall.

I love your review and just ordered Moto Stylus 5G 2022 from Bestbuy here in Canada , (Jan/2023) refurbished for $275 + tax. Great deal for me who is known to leave a cell in the pocket of my trunks while I enter a hottub (killed one or two cells that way). I know the Stylus is not water resistant but I refer to how cheap it is so in my mind is easily replaceable for us clumsy people and yet, if you manage to keep it safe it's OK for years to come.

I don't know if you are aware or not but there are several blackview phones that are under $250 that are completely waterproof. I purchased a $200 blackview phone for my sister who was in the nursing home and it is the kind where you can drop it from 20 ft up and no damage whatsoever to the body of the phone. Purchased for the reason that you can throw it around like if she had it on her bed and somehow it fell to the hard ground below her bed since they refused to give her a crash pad and did in fact drop her and break her back I figured I need needed to get a durable phone that was also waterproof. It kind of works like a computer because it has everything you can imagine a computer would actually have as far as word processing goes. So I will be getting my blackview phone which is completely waterproof and you can take pictures underwater and you can go hiking and leave it in the snow and of course it has all the programs to enable you to connect your printer your computer and all of your devices. Plus you can leave it for 6 months iand the battery is still at 70%😊 I think the battery is 7800 MaH for the $159.00 phones.

I recently upgraded from the a51 to the a53. The fingerprint reader is like a whole different technology than the older one. Its amazing compared to having to try 15 times to get it to read my prints. Also the stereo speakers are pretty great. The 120hz display is another great plus. No experience with the Moto G Stylus yet but I am thinking of picking one up. Both o=phones are just 200 bucks now. i really wish the Galaxy would have updated the camera and not just the camera software.

I currently have the A53. I got it after I returned the Stylus 5G 2022. My biggest complaint with the Moto was it's LCD screen. It wasn't bright enough in direct sunlight and in day-to-day use the viewing angles weren't very good. It simply pairs in comparison to the super amoled on the A53. The Moto also has no IP rating (it's only water repellent as opposed to water resistant) vs the A53 having an IP67 rating. In terms of performance wise both phones are about the same. Now don't get me wrong the Stylus 5g 2022 is a decent phone and most people would be satisfied with it but I just found the A53 to be a much better phone.

Currently, you can get the Motorola for $230+ and it's possible to get it for even less (under $200!). What stuck out to me was your repeating that you went for the Motorola more often in practical everyday use. That is a measure not often mentioned by other reviewers. The comfort with use test. 👀

Moto without a doubt. That A53 exynos chip stutters too much. I have a Samsung tablet with an exynos chip and it is slow. Not a fan of the exynos processor. Moto isn't perfect but for me, it's the overall winner here.

I have the Moto G Stylus 5G 2022, got it 2 days ago. It's going back. It's a great deal at less than $300usd, BUT crappy camera and camera software, plus lack of stereo speakers, and some other little software things is annoying to me. This has just 4gb ram so apps sometimes open or try to and immediately close. Plus it's not getting any more android updates just some security ones. I'll likely end upwith a Samsung S21 FE (2x the price), or the Google pixel 6a $50 more Pros are snappy screen, it looks nice. Headphone jack and expandable memory, are amazing I use both. Affordable. You do get big bang for your buck. If you aren't into camera that much, and don't watch and listen to stuff without head phones or connected to a Bluetooth speaker then this is a great deal. I could see my aunt liking it or my Dad.

I have both Samsung 53 and moto g stylus 2022. From my experience my moto g stylus at 120 hz is smother and faster than the Samsung. Also the camera quality not that bad either. I went to developer options and turned off all animation scale. It’s the fastest and the easiest android I ever had.

One thing with the phone speakers. My S20FE had a habit of randomly turning on the speaker phone while I had the phone to my ear in conversation. With its loud stereo speakers it caused ringing in my ear for hours. That can't happen on the Moto being one speaker.

My close friend always had the Samsung Note phones and she went from the note 20 to the Google pixel and said that the Google pixel was by far superior to any of the Samsung Notes that she previously had over the last 10 years. She said that the Motorola that she was using for 5 years still continues to outperform any of the Samsung Note phones when I look at the performance of my Motorola G which is 6 years old the screen actually responds to my touch whereas the SAMSUNG S 9+ DOES NOT RESPOND AT ALL ( even with Touch sensitivity on) and has never worked so basically I wasted my $900 buying it from Amazon 2 years ago. It's the worst kind of screen because it doesn't react to your touch and then it's rounded on the side so it doesn't have any point where it stops so you cannot actually hold the phone in your hand if you're trying to look at something because it keeps opening other apps and doing weird things when you're just trying to hold it in your hands. Was never able to successfully set the phone up to use it since there is no touch screen so that's when I decided the after spending 25,000 on Samsung phones I was done wasting money on Samsung

I had a Samsung S20FE and it had minor lag. I think its the bloatware and Samsung aggressive apps and notifications that are always interfering in the background it seems. Also the fingerprint sensor in the screen was terrible. Bad battery and charging also. In my car it would slowly die using Android auto as my car does not have fast charging. Not a great everyday basic tasks phone, I got rid of it only after a few months. I've been using a Moto G Play right now for over a year which has none of those issues and like it so much I'm getting the Stylus 5G 2022.

I am almost offended you picked such a budget phone to go against the 5g 2022. I did my homework when looking, and for my $600 I was giving myself for a phone, the Stylus wasa the best bet for my money. I don't do the lease phones as I got burned with that before-- ( Verizon asking me to buy the leased and then outdated 2 year old phone for MORE than its successor {Moto Z2 to Z4}) My point is you know you get what you pay for. Although this is not an S22 Ultra, for 42% of what that goes for, you get a similar phone, and for my uses, it's is suitable, and quick. Also, a phone with the throwback stylus and notepad option baked in, means I never need pen and paper again for writing, or sketching something quickly.

When I buy ah Moto phone, I turn it on and it says "Welcome" and then a moment later I'm at my home screen with nothing going on other than "Sign into wifi/playstore" Turn on a new Samsung phone. And you'll have over 80 notifications when walking out the Cell Store. Their bloat, terrible battery life keep me from wanting them.

U can get moto same specs but 6 gigs of ram. And it's 299. TMobile I like big phones I have big hands a53 is to small and has lag without a doubt. Like u said it's preference.. I don't shoot videos but moto can shoot 1080p 60 frames that is also good but for 299 I take the moto any day. And going to get it next week. A53 is OK if I had to choose again I'd pick a33 over the a53 also. A53 is not optimized well though andriod 13 has made a bit better but the 1280 processor is 🙄

The newer 2023 A53 comes with Snapdragon 695 (64GB/4GB RAM), same as Moto 5G (128GB/6GB RAM) Edited: Sorry typo, I wanted to refer the A23 which comes with Snapdragon 695 5G
