Samsung A71 wet How to save it

Today we are going to deal with a common and very serious problem: water damage on a Samsung Galaxy A71. In this tutorial, I will share the steps that we must follow to rescue a device affected by moisture.
The moment a wet device arrives at my shop, the first thing I do is disconnect the battery connector. This little trick can prevent possible short circuits on the motherboard and aggravate the damage of the device.

Then, with the help of a plastic pick, I begin to disassemble the device, removing the middle casing. It is crucial to use plastic rather than metal tools to prevent further damage to the phone. The last step at this stage is to remove the motherboard for a preliminary visual inspection.
When analyzing the motherboard, I detect a considerable moisture stain. Fortunately, the bottom of the plate and the sheet metal appear to be in good shape. For a more accurate diagnosis, I analyze the motherboard in detail under a microscope, checking each component for traces of moisture or additional damage.

Upon discovering a burnt component, I proceed to remove the resin that covers it, applying heat with a hot air station. I then clean the area with isopropyl alcohol, you can also use a contact cleaner like WD-40. Using a tester, I check this component that seems to have lost part of its properties due to humidity.

The next step is to check the operation of the motherboard. To do this, I use a precision lab source and the Power Z tool. This device allows you to analyze the consumption of the motherboard. I see adequate power consumption, which leads me to conclude with 99% certainty that the motherboard is working properly.
But the work is not finished yet. Next, I try to salvage the display connector and the charging module, both of which were damaged by moisture. I clean these components with a metal brush and cotton soaked in contact cleaner. I discover a damaged track that needs to be sanitized, so I apply some flux and go over the tracks with the tip of a 350ºC soldering iron.
Lastly, I check the voltage at the battery connector. For this, I use a tester from the Fluke brand. Good voltage at the connector and on the battery indicates that the device should turn on.
Unfortunately, when testing the device, I get no image on the screen. The solution will be to put a new screen, and after obtaining the approval of the client, I proceed to make the replacement. Once the device is fully assembled, I check all its functions. Finally, with the help of the Power Z, I confirm that the device has an optimal charge.
As always, my job is not just to fix devices, but also to educate people on how to better maintain and care for their devices.
