Atleast a third of today's monitors, specially high end ones use Samsung lcd Panels. Though there are two massive cheap panel manufacturers in China; Samsung, LG and Taiwan's AuOptronics are the 3 big bleeding edge panel manufacturers now that Sharp and Sony have backed down. Even Sony gets its LCD panels and OLEDs for their higher end TVs from korea and taiwan now too. If you buy a cheap 4k TV from wallmart for $300, chances are it has a Chinese BOC or Panda made lcd panel though.

Last year back in June my dishwasher finally gave up the ghost after nearly 2 decades of service(Kenmore), so I took advantage of the b-day(born in July) discount Best Buy gave me, and the sale rep said don't buy Samsung as they had a lot of trouble out of them, he said get Whirlpool, and between covid backorders, Best Buy stupidness, & my credit union freezing my credit card thinking it was fraud, it took till the first week in Oct. before I got it in, and installed, then shortly after in Nov. right before Thanksgiving my decade old Frigidaire side by side refrigerator/freezer died, Best buy was out of stock of most everything we wanted, and I did not want to deal with them again, so went to Lowe's they also said don't buy Samsung(LG as well for that matter) we have had a lot of issues with them. They said go Whirlpool, so again we did with a normal top bottom style in black, and so far it's been fantastic, and it's also great knowing they were both American made at a fair price. So my point is Samsung might be one of the biggest, but it does not mean they are the best when honest people who sale them, service, and make a living off them tell you not to buy them.

Here’s something else I found interesting: In 1974, Samsung also began to produce its own like of construction equipment too. They did so until 1998, when Volvo Construction Equipment acquired this branch. I remember seeing a few Samsung-branded machines at sites when driving around, and I always thought it interesting as before this video, I never truly knew how big the company is and was!

Samsung's leap to the top came about because one of their prime missions in the 70s was to destroy Sony, as both their arch rival and former wartime enemy. They made it their goal to compete against Sony in every possible way and also put pressure against Matsushita and Sanyo, and it worked beautifully. Sony went from being top of electronics to not even making many kinds of electronics at all any more. Samsung used a similar approach with cell phones. They made a lot of bad phones. One day, an executive of the company demanded they dump all their awful phones in a parking lot and had them all crushed while the employees watched. Then he gave them orders to go back to the drawing boards and invent a phone that could beat Apple. Eventually they came up with the Galaxy S3, a stupendous success that took the fight right to Apple and sold like crazy. It was such a good phone, it's still usable today. That phone changed everything and showed everybody Samsung wasn't afraid to start over, and woe to you if your industry was their next target. And yeah, I'm watching and typing this comment on a Samsung Galaxy S20. It's freaking awesome.

Hey, so I know you try to keep your videos around 10 minutes with a few exceptions, but for companies as big as this, I don't think we'd mind having a say, 20 or 30 minute video split into two parts that goes into much more detail.
