I have to say, for the money they are selling for right now, they are a pretty solid option! My mums 50in plasma (yep!) finally gave up about 3 weeks ago. She doesn’t care about 120hz, VRR, insane amounts of processing or smart features, she just needed solid picture, intuitive controls and a bigger screen, as she’s getting cataracts now bless her. I treated her to one for £629 for the 65in of this tv, and it’s pretty capable! Screen uniformity was very good, only a touch of DSE that you could only see on menus and not in media and it looks brilliant on the wall. When they launched, Samsung were charging £1000 for the 65in and that was too high for the features it has, but for £629? Bargain.

Sorry to hear about the plasma. I have old plasma with hd external tuner And new led . The plasma craps on the new with better color saturation and is faster ( no trails or jitter). But is bloody heavy.

Thanks for your no nonsense videos but is there any chance of you showing some SD freeview channels to see how the upscaling is and also a quick flick through the freeview tvguide to see how responsive it is? I've tried cheaper TVs before and even just changing channels and using the grid tv guide can be such a painful experience due to being really slow. One TV even took around 4 or 5 seconds just to change channels. These are features you can not test in somewhere like Currys and such high street retailers as they don't have aerials attached to any of their TVs. Appaerently because "they don't have a TV license" as I've been told by a couple of different Currys stores. 🤔Thanks

Hi mate, you make some good points, I'll see if I can incorporate some of them on my next one. It's tricky with some content as youtube makes me remove the if it's copyrighted. This tv once updated was nice and responsive, I find a lot of them laggy at first once updated and after the first few hours, freeview standard is OK. The samsungs probably do the best job with upscaling

If it's the screw size for the vesa mounts, I think I included it on the quick setup guide. Possibly m8 10mm, just checked it actually says 11-13mm, so you could use longer with some washers

BU8000 and BU8500 are basically the same, only difference is the stand. As far as I know this year will be only BU8xxx, no 7 or 9 series, so no equivalent model to AU9000 this year. But the last year's models are still available. You'll not going to see any difference between 2020, 2021, 2022 entry models. I've bought 75AU9072 three months ago.

Seems to be a decent TV but it's way too dark in the movie scenes (Maverick), the actors eyes are over-shadowed with no detail; seems that Samsung didn't fix it's dimming and black crush issues with the BU series 😭😭😭. Watching night scenes with Samsung TV's is a nightmare 🥵.

Feel a little disappointed with this TV in person. Finding a lot of blocky colour bounding and motion can be a little odd. Netflix for the most part looks great but anything else. KZbin, tv channels etc I find really disappointing probably as they are being upscaled. First impressions not great
