Hi there. Thanks for sharing your troubleshooting process. Our Samsung induction cooktop had C-F0 error. I pulled apart the unit and the left PCB MAIN board (DE92-03672A) was blown out (there were obvious damaged parts). I replaced this part, but the C-F0 error remained. The surface element control board (DE92-03543A) the one you're diagnosing - is the next board I'll probably be replacing. Visual inspection shows no issue, but one of the fuses on the board was blown, so I can imagine maybe there must have been more significant damage to the parts from the original blow out. I tried replacing the fuse - but same issue. Or maybe it might be a relay issue as one of your commenters noted (Golden GK-A-1A-12D).

I just finished the same process and found cold solder joints in the same location on the same board. It also looks like there was an attempted repair evidently by the people who made the board after realizing that the board had failed connections. Pretty obviously a manufacturer defect but of course Samsung isn’t going to admit fault. I repaired the solder connections and the range burners work perfect now. It’s actually a pretty simple repair once you know the issue. The Samsung appliance repair technicians told my brother that the range couldn’t be repaired and the best place for the range was the local landfill. They had already replaced the main PCB board at the back of the range which of course had absolutely nothing to do with non functioning burners, at a cost of $600. These guys are a bunch of clowns and have absolutely no clue. Anyway thanks you for the heads up it saved this range from death by landfill.

Im a cellphone repair tech and do a ton of micro soldering and i see this kinda thing alot. Paste/flux is your best buddy in soldering lol. I bought a cheap $100 soldering microscope and its helped a TON. Also use solder braid to clean solder joints before resolder. GJ

Yes usually on smaller delicate units I I would have done better 🤣😆 I'm definitely better served on larger soldering items that require MORE HEAT👍💯👊 you're part of the RC GUY GARAGE Facebook group could you post up some items that would be good for soldering small electronics. It would be very much appreciated 👍💯👊

Using paste or not doesn't matter. I sometimes use it to help locate the molten solder onto small ICs and SMDs but, back to your job. The idea is to heat the copper pad AND the component lead AT THE SAME TIME. So you come in at an angle and touch both the pad and the lead stub together. All this should happen quickly to so as not to transfer too much heat up into the component and possible damage it. That's why the right iron for the job is pretty important and a clean pre-tinned tip. No need to preload the tip with a lump of molten solder, as long as it's tinned properly (cleaned and coated with solder) it should connect thermally to the job. The solder, (flux-cored is perfect) is applied on the OPPOSITE side to the iron AFTER some seconds when you think the pad AND lead are hot enough. What happens is the solder flows onto and across the pad and surrounds the component lead and draws down into the well. It's all about the flow. The word you were looking for is dry joint btw. They happen a lot in electronics sometimes early on or more usually over an extended time. Heat builds up and only makes the joint "dryer" so its a loop until it fails. Finding them can be easy or hard depending on the severity. When you say its easy well yes and no. People who have been soldering for years can do it without thinking. Learning the right way at the start, that's the trick. I'm here because mine stopped working and like yours it cost over $2000 so I was always going to go under the hood. The dry joint in mine was so bad it melted a connecting lead clean off. Burnt smell and soot near the melt so easy peasy to find this time around. Get yourself a cheap iron with a small chisel tip for the next dry joint LOL. Thanks for the vid and 👌good luck!

Thank you for this vid. It was informative and you really made me smile. I was looking for a way to fix my cooktop and will try to disassemble it in a few days. Both right heaters fail to detect a pan, so I guess I now know where to look. Apparantly Samsung has a good reputation of creating crappy solder joints. I already repaired my samsung washing machine 3 times where the solder joint that's feeding the motor gets to much current and cracks/melts after a while. Just like the cooktop, Samsungs denies responsibility where they should fix these faulty designs for free IMO (and offer a nice bouquet of flowers to compensate for the hassle).
@rcguygarage2 жыл бұрын
Yes I don't see Samsung handing out flowers 😉😂🤣

Samsung needs to put out a recall on some of these models. There is a problem with excess current draw, up to 2 1/2 amps, when NOT in use. Simply put, some of these cooktops are drawing current when they shouldn't be. Check your breaker panel for excess hum on the cooktop breaker as a first clue. We're talking a good bit of excess cost for monthly bills if this is occurring.

My induction Stove had a $3 relay failure. about 2 years ago the left half of the cooktop stopped working. replaced a relay and it solved the issue. now thee right side stopped working. Tracked it down to the same relay that turns on the right side inverter board. Pretty dissapointed with this range.. Can't imagine how someone would feel having to pay to have it repaired twice.. This is the relay that failed if it helps.. Golden GK-A-1A-12D its on the main power board, 2 of them.

Hey thanks for the video and I hope your cooktop is still going well. I have a quick question. My Induction is doing the same thing except its intermittent. Sometimes it works but sometimes it throws pan is not detected message.. I'm wondering if your cooktop was doing that and then eventually just not detecting at all. Thanks!

Finally got around to fixing our stove. I am so giddy this worked. We have a $3700 chef collection. I was heartbroken it broke. It was a bit overwhelming to even contemplate. I’ve never soldered anything in my life and had zero clue how to do it. Ended up having to do the disassemble, fix and reassemble twice because I didn’t have the right solder. For those out there thinking of attempting this repair, make sure you have 60/40 solder rated for circuit boards.
