I have the old(maybe the first) Samsung Dex dockingstation. Got it with my Note 8, now I have a S22 Ultra. It saved my day because my pc broke down and is still not working. On Dex I can edit the same files that I could on my pc. Normally the resolution is WQHD 2560 x 1440, but then I tried the Good Lock thing and it went to UHD(4K) 3840 x 2160. That was to wild for me, so went back to 2560 x 1440. I use Dex on my 65@ tv. My phone can even read my eksternal harddrive with a capasity of 4 TB and it supports most videofile types. Wild. Your videos are always helpfull and great. When I see something like this, I always share the video with friends.

Just tried again today. Yes it can still read my 4 TB eXsternal harddrive. I tried because I wasen't sure if it could also read iso files. But with VLC installed, you just double click on the file and it asks you if you want to open the file with VLC. And YES it does open and plays fine. But as standard Samsung reads most video files.

Very useful. I have a 10.5” 1920x1280 monitor and a 13.3” 1920x1080 monitor. Great to know that I can change the settings accordingly. Dex is a great tool on my Samsung S20.

On older phones like the Galaxy Note 9, I can't change the resolution to WQHD it's limited to Full HD only! I tried to install MultiStar plugin of Goodlock application and there is no "I love Samsung Dex" option on the list to change the resolution to WQHD or 4K, what to do? Thank you.

​@@nickthaskater If you have windows for DEX installed on your PC, it will definitely work! But I don't have a PC, I only use Samsung DEX and I can do selective screenshots by right-clicking on the screen shot button (Germany! Samsung dex on Galaxy Note9 and 22 ultra)

Question for anyone who may know the answer... I've been running dex to stream hockey games and up until yesterday (granted I hadn't used it in a few months) the color on the TV always seemed perfect. Yesterday I was using it to watch a game and the color of the screen was I credibly bright. Whites were blindingly bright ro the point that they all blended in. This was never an issue before. Whites blending in while watching hockey isn't a good thing. Watching the stream on my phone was fine. Casting it was also fine but choppy from not so great internet. Anyone else run into this recently?

Hell yeah thanks the resolution was driving me nuts. My PC broke due to power outage and the power bar failed so i was like iˋll use my phone as a pc style till i build a new pc but i was stuck on 1080p resolution. This fixed my issues. thank you very much

Thank you so much! My biggest issue was with the screen resolution when I'm connecting my tablet to my external monitor. This looks much better. Only problem now is the size of the icons on the desktop. They still seem comically large for the screen resolution.

Yes, you can, unless you have an HDMI hub with you. You can plug the USB mouse/keyboard into your HDMI hub.

Yes they work but they work on laptops with dex software installed, if it’s for monitor, you need a HDMi to type C cable or a compatible C to C cable which normally comes with latest monitors

The main issue I have with Dex is it doesn't appear to support a spell checker with the Samsung email when using an external xternal keyboard. The iPad Mini 6 does because it is mirroring the tablet.

Dex runs at 60hz max, but if you just mirror the screen out of dex it can support qhd 120hz, will need a software to make android same resolution of the external monitor, connect it USB to USB on portable monitor no need adapter or hub.

I feel like people dont use DeX too much and i think they're missing out a lot. I love how i can just plug in my monitor or tv, connect my controller and just play my emulators on a bigger screen. Also, most programs i use are web based so i basically have a full on desktop in my pocket

Dex is not that useful to me due to a few important issues. 1. Cannot drag and drop files in most apps. 2. Right click on mouse won't work in most apps. MyFiles will drag to Samsung Notes, but won't drag a file to Evernote or OneNote. These are deal breakers for me.
