Wow! Thank you so much for sharing this video! We had the same exact problem with a slightly different waterwall model. Tried cleaning the drain hose first etc...etc...almost gave up until I found your video. This is probably the first youtube video I ever commented on. Had a piece of glass stuck in the same exact spot. Now its working! 🎉hooray

Very helpful video. I ended up finding a piece of glass in the pipe at 6:10 ! My dishwasher model has a one way flap on that section of the hose resulting in the flap to be stuck open by the glass.

I liked the way you covered each potential reason one by one and get to the bottom of the issue at the end. I also realized that this can fix the water leakage error if you just open the bottom panel and clean the water sensor. Thanks a lot.
@generalaudience764110 ай бұрын
@cdogan, yes you are right. IF there is a water leakage error, you can follow the same steps, remove the bottom panel and clean the water sensors. However, keep in mind that if there is some water leakage, it is better to also check the hose connections that I showed in the video. I recently fixed a Samsung Dishwasher that was leaking water and saw that there was a loose hose connection that was dripping. Actually it is easier to fix that problem than 5C/5S error. Thanks for the info.

Thank you for this video. Sister-in-law had the same error code. Did all the first steps myself, even changed a piece of drain line and snaked the main drain line and still showed the code. Then she found this video. I never would have thought I could open that pump that easy. Popped it open, and there was a purple asparagus rubber band wrapped around the pump turbine. You are my hero dude. Thank you very much.

I am so happy that it helped you fix the problem. As a side note, if you happen to experience a water leak error (common for Samsung Dishwashers), you should follow the same steps and check hose connections inside the machine, and clean the water sensor you have seen in this video.

@@akicitaa.8233 Maybe? Still misleading and the probability of something that big getting into the drain pump is extremely small. The opening is tiny at least on my model I just took apart.
@generalaudience764122 күн бұрын
Yes, good catch! Just want to let you know that I am actually doing everything twice, one for the actual repair and then I do the same again to record the video. I found that small piece in the propeller when I opened the part the first time. Then I redid it just for recording. So, this is a genuine repair.
@akicitaa.823322 күн бұрын
I was with you until 6:55 because my dishwasher doesn't have a corresponding part. It has the grey plastic container where you found that little plastic piece in it, but not a top cap that can be twisted off to get inside it! It has a white contraption on top that contains a motor, and no tabs to detach it so I can get inside the grey part to clean it. I tried for over an hour and could not detach the parts and access the inside of that container. I sure do hope that's not where the problem is, or I'm screwed!
@generalaudience764122 күн бұрын
Hi akicitaa, some models have a different part. I recommend that you take a look at the following two videos that show how to replace the drain and circulation pumps. If you can not open it, you may want to replace it. However, in most cases, these parts can be opened. You may try to open it after you take the whole thing apart. Of course, I am making these general suggestions without seeing specific parts. I hope these will help you: m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/iaCXc5KffJVmmMU and m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJixfaqvZ61kra8

@@generalaudience7641 Thank you! Fortunately, I was able to blow out a couple of clogs in the drain line, and I took a chance and reconnected the dishwasher and ran it, and it worked--without having to access that pump. If I'd had to do that I think I would have been in trouble because I just dont have the parts or experience, but following your video I was able to successfully clear the line and everything's working now.

Any chance you can tell me where the heating element is on that dishwasher? Mine looks like that and it’s not getting hot. I can’t find the heating element anywhere. I looked at the parts schematics and don’t see it.
@generalaudience764125 күн бұрын
Hi DobraLLC, Unfortunately the heating element is not listed separately as a part. I am afraid I cannot answer your question. However, I recommend that you check the thermistor and make sure it is working properly. Often times, the thermistor is not working. @generalaudience764110 ай бұрын
@christremie873 Haha:) Good catch! I can assure you it is the same piece that came out. Before recording that step, I had actually opened that part, took the piece out, and closed it again to show you how it is opened. So, the repair is 100% genuine:).

Good work. I got all the way back to “Rinse” with “14”. But I can’t get the computer to rinse or otherwise function. The 5C error message is gone but the computer is stuck on “Rinse* mode with “14” showing. I’ve tried unplugging for 10 minutes but it seems the computer is now messed up after troubleshooting the drainage 5C error message. My machine is the DW80R9950 series. Oh well.
