This video demonstrates how I permanently fixed the LC error code by repositioning the leak detection sensor in my SAMSUNG Dishwasher Model: DW80K5050US.
For over two years this dishwasher has repeatedly malfunctioned by displaying the LC code and stopped running. Each time this has happened we have disconnected the power at the circuit breaker waited a few hours and allowed itself to reset and then it would function again.
It has progressively increased in the number of times it has happened until finally the code would not reset even after sitting disconnected for 3 days.
In an attempt to permanently fix the issue I have repositioned the leak detector switch to a new position in the machine.

Thank you for this! We've not had a running dishwasher for over a week because of this same error code. I even called Samsung about this issue as it started happening 2 months after I purchased it. This is the worst dishwasher I've ever owned, and if I would've known back then that this is a common thing, I never would've bought it :/ :(

Thanks, I’d called the repair guy then cancelled him after I fount this Great video. The only thing I did differently was instead of taping the sensor up inside thee unit, I added 3 washers on each under side of the sensor mounting, basically shimming it higher from the catch pan so.a small amount of water won’t set it off but not so high that it doesn’t detect any significant accumulation that could damage the electronics. So far, so good!

This is a great video. I just got my brand new samsung dishwasher 3 weeks ago and a few day ago I started getting that dreaded LC error code. I was about to follow your suggestion but called samsung first and they sent out a tech the next day. The problem for me was the rubber washer that was inside the water intake tube that's connected to the back of the dishwasher had shredded so the water was leaking because of that. He didn't have a spare washer so I pulled one out of one of my garden hoses and he used that one to replace the shredded one. It's only been one day and I haven't had that error again, yet. Hopefully that fixes the problem. So I would suggest that everyone checks that pesky rubber washer to see if that is the problem.

Argh. Remember when hooking up the supply line I had a leak, guess it leaked into that tray area and kept triggering the error code. I just needed to dry out that tray and put it back together but if I ever get this code again know where to look and how to impress the wife again.

The “problem” is the small water leak which results in the code. But, if we didn’t have this dishwasher our “code” would be water on the floor which would be a problem. While annoying that sensor serves a purpose. That sensor senses a leak in your dishwasher. It stops the dishwasher from potentially allowing water to leak all over your floor. While you can move it to stop the code, make sure you address the root cause. Otherwise some time you run the dishwasher you may be sorry. The best solution is to do what some have done, leave it in the bottom pan and raise it with washers.

The sensor is working as it should. The dishwasher is leaking and it's designed to stop it so your kitchen doesn't flood and/or the flooring doesn't get damaged by a slow leak. Simple and to the point. Good job all around with your video and presentation. With that said, I'd never buy another Samsung product. I have the exact same dishwasher and this thing has more damn error codes than it does functions! I also have a Samsung refrigerator that sucks.

Not going to read all 400+ comments to see if this was mentioned but once a load is started don’t open the door to add more dishes. This will almost always set off the LC code as it lets just enough water to reach that damn sensor.

Great video! However I would say if you try this method you should run an empty load to test how much water you are dealing with. This could be a simple part swap but if not it may cost you your wood floors.

Check the screws that hold the motor/seal in place. This is under the filter plate. Many others find these screws loose and is the cause of leakage. There are 6 or more of these screws. Moving the sensor is not the solution.
