This is the Samsung Galaxy A02, not to be confused with the A02s, but actually a lower device, supposedly a direct upgrade to the 2019 Galaxy A01. Is this device worth buying? Samsung has made a few questionable choices with the A02 most notable being the use of a 28nm Mediatek processor which is sub par especially when you consider that the A01 had the 12nm Snapdragon 439. The Galaxy A02 comes in 2 variants, 2/3GB RAM and 32/64GB ROM. The highest configuration of the A02 is priced in the same range as the base model of the A02s which has a better processor, arguably the better design and better overall software performance. This is a full review of the Samsung Galaxy A02 after using for a few days.

I was tempted by the price, I bought it, now I'm disappointed after finding how slow it is.. That's what happens when you don't read full specs section, because I never thought samsung would do a downgrade to a newer device's components, especially when it have 3gb of ram and 5k mah battery

Yea about that, I figured Asphalt 9 actually has a problem as I've downloaded it on other phones with much better specs and it didn't load past the first screen as well. Will pin a comment to that effect

I will say though can you like maybe do a dolphin emulator test with it. I've had some surprising results out of a Galaxy a 20 before.

As for the A02, I have read some really dismal reviews. The A02S however is a much better device and worth spending the little bit of extra money on VS the A02. Maybe they only made the A02 because they had a lot of older processors to get rid of.

I have the AO1 and it's horrible. It comes with 16GB of memory and can't be expanded. So once you've downloaded a few apps and a couple of system updates, you're forever out of memory and forever dealing with prompts about it. You can insert a Micro SD Card, but it can only be used for photos, videos and saved text messages -- not apps. Is that the same case with this phone?

Here in South Africa the A02 is about 500 bucks cheaper. The A02 is about 2000 Rand and the A02s is around 2500 Rand.

There's two versions of the A02, one with 2GB RAM less expensive which should be a fair deal at its price, but the highest configuration is to close to the A02s to consider it

I mostly didnt like this phone I replaced my iphone 11 with this and I had bad experience its not for gaming at all. Its only for every day use and also it doesent have good call quality and it doesent message. This phone is only good for Old people. Go for the a02s or ao1

The damn thing is slower than the A01 . It's a downgrade and not an upgrade. I feel bad for the poor thing . I think Samsung is trying to make the A02s more appealing. The A02 has a wore processor than it's predecessor (the A01) and no face unlock. It's a bloated, jittery , unresponsive mess.

It's not really about that, it's more about what is the literal point of this version of the phone if there is another better version of the phone that is similarly priced. As yes someone else commented it really is probably old stock that they're trying to shove in 2 products so that way they can at least make some money off of it. Which isn't even necessarily a bad thing because you know it's in a price range someone can afford and if it's what they need and it's what they need. If I needed a phone and I had no money and just enough to get this phone I would do it. Unless of course I found a better specd one for the same price. which then I would get that 1 instead.
