Why do budget phones need 4 camera's when they're only average anyway? Surely 2/3 would do the same job & put more effort into other things.

because there are phone users that like to take pretty photos but don't wanna spend too much on a phone. A12 is probably created for that reason. sucks that they use mediatek, yes. but there are people that don't care about chipset as long as they have large storage space, big RAM and 4 cameras

My A11 went for a swim 2 days ago (accidentally dropped it while it was wrapped in my towel), it still shows life but it looks like the screen is busted. Damn. Edit: I forgot to update this but after 2 days of the incident I tried to turn it on and it worked just fine. I am still using it now to edit this comment.

Honestly, I'd love to upgrade from my A11 to the A12 but I'm fine with the 6.4 inch display. And screen quality is a must for me so I rather keep my A11 to have a better crisp screen than the A12

I got the A11 last year brand new at Walmart, for $120. Today, I just went and bought the A12 for $120 as well ($166 with ONN A12 case). If you feel the A31 is within your budget, then you will probably have a better experience with it. But if you're truly using your phone just for talking and texting, you may not need an A31, and you may be better off with a cheaper device, like an A21 or A10e. Boost Mobile has some pretty good deals on both those devices right now.
