The only devices I don't mind having a huge notch are the ones that have secure face unlock like iPhone and Huawei (I think Poco had it on the F1, not sure), could they be smaller? maybe, but I also appreciate those who choose not to have secure facial recognition (cause they have fingerprint unlock), in favor of a small notch or hole punch. Face ID feels so great and secure that I don't mind the notch on the iPhone, although I'm jealous of the Note 10 Plus display, that thing looks really good...

For those wondering about updates, it is scheduled for quarterly updates. It will get two years of major updates and three years of security patches. That means the phone will get Android 11 and 12.

the camera looks real good. zooms you did were really pretty good. the wide angle would be good in some situations and the 64 mp camera looks great too. Phone looks real good over all though. Does it have a gallery app in it? it is a little pricey though. i'm thinking of the A51, the umidigi f2 and the A71. Great job doing the review as always Kevin !!!!!

Kevin, since you have the Galaxy A71, do you know if WiFi calling, NFC, and VoLTE work in the U.S. (specifically on T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile)? Also, does 4G LTE work well in the U.S.? I'm thinking about buying this phone. Also, I'm a huge fan! Your channel is amazing!

I just got this phone a few days ago. I love it its fast. I think my favourite things are the battery life and then the physical button placement!!! No more turning it to landscape and hitting Bixby!! All the buttons are out of the way if you put it in landscape!

I'm very impressed with both the 41 *and* the 71. Having tried both in store. I'm seriously tempted to buy the 51, although I'm not too impressed by the glossy backs on either of them, but I'd slap a Rugged Shield Case on them from the get go anyway 😉👍 Do you know whether they come with a basic Screen Protector applied? Cheers.

Hi...when u used 64mp main camera and zoomed in to see the details (thus replacing telephoto lens), did u use the default auto 16mp in there and cropped it? Or did u manually select the 64mp and then cropped it to see the details? Thanks!

Same here! I've been using Motorola devices since the Moto G2 back in 2014, and then the G5 Plus, G7 Plus and G8 Plus, my current phone, but I've bought the Galaxy A71 yesterday and I'm waiting for it to arrive. Really excited to get it! I got bored of Motorola, and the mediocre update support (still no Android 10 on the G8 Plus!) was what finally made me want to get a new-and different-phone. Hope the Galaxy A71 is a good phone :-)

I don’t understand why the Galaxy A70 seems better in camera. I just purchased the Galaxy A71 and find that there are some settings/features missing on the camera app which is truly disappointing. Missing Resolution: 1280x720 60Fps 1920x1080 60Fps Missing Pro Mode: Exposure Aperture So far this is my only concern regarding of the Galaxy A71 (2020) compared to the Galaxy A70.

Does the gyroscope work well? I want to switch from my Samsung s8 which has a terrible gyroscope. It turns when i dont want it to, and it takes forever to go from portrait to fullscreen in youtube. It also stops the video and continues playing the sound, while it tries to turn the perspective. Is this a problem on the A71? That is my final issue before i decide to buy it.

My only complaint is a notification periodically pops up telling me that I have a Voice Mail message when I don't. I even cancelled Voice Mail but it still happens at least once a week. I have to go to Settings and ease the storage in phone calls to get rid of the notification each time. Any suugestions?

I can't wait for the day, which is fast approaching, when there are no phone reviews on KZbin. Because a phone is a phone is a phone. All the expensive ones are good. All the cheap ones are OK. The Apple ones are shit, and the Huawei ones and Samsung ones are awesome. Phones are rapidly becoming a commodity, and thank goodness. Just like the way you now just go and buy a laptop, or a tablet, and it doesn't matter who makes it - you get what you pay for. So, you just buy the one that's on special, with 50% off and a free stylus. It doesn't matter what you buy. And it's the same for phones: unless you are some extreme user (and guess what? You're not!) then your phone is the same as everyone else's phone - unless it's from Apple, then it is shit.

What country are you in? The Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro has better hardware then the Samsung Galaxy A71, but the Samsung Galaxy A71 has more frequency bands the Mi 9T Pro. If your outside the United States, get the Mi 9T pro, if your in the U.S., get the Samsung Galaxy A71, it still has pretty good hardware and has a much better chance of getting data in the U.S..
