6 years of usage, 2 times phone went crazy and began to constantly turn on and off and had to take it to repair, battery got swollen after 6 years, and phone had weird problems like getting no service or very bad connection where it shouldnt, so switched to s20 last week But it was a great experience

Black Knight Yeah, you can say that, I agree but biggest issue is no sd card slot. Recording 4K video with only 32GB total storage? That's a bit NO from me. I got Canon 650D, 32GB is for 1000+ RAW pic and thats it. I guess bitrate of 4K video is low to compensate for storage.

Yes, coz samsung uses Pentile tech for their screens. It can even make a 1080p panel look like a 720p one! So just think what worse can it do to a 720p panel. Whereas the iPhone uses the most accurate "LCD" panel on the market which is 100% sRGB, and many more tech in there which makes the display really good.

Hector Zuniga ikr? mkb was an annoying bitch in this video. Thats one thing I hate about most mobile people. They complain about somethings without even knowing the hardware. 12mp or 16mp doesnt make any difference. 4.7" is bloody perfect for one hand use and that is something I value a lot. The battery on paper seems low but thats cuz the exynos cpu is of 20nm manf process so its way more power efficient and hence they went with the smaller battery to save weight and hence this is fucking light in the hand. And benchmarks prove its damn fast charging also. And I got it this month since it retails at same price as s5 and half as much as it used to be when it launched. I love this phone.

Dude WTF this phone is clearly coping apple and the 5s. Just look at the edges of the phone! They are using metal like Apple did! Apple copies from Samsung, Samsung copies Apple. In competitive market like this one you have to copy people. Technology moves so fast thanks to these guys. All you Samsung fanboys benefit from the Iphone. The Iphone puts pressure on so many companies to release a good phones because Apple's reputation with the Iphone. The reason why Apple today has a 5.5 inch screen was because of Samsung. Samsung was using bigger screens years ago so in order to be competitive in that market Apple needed to release a device like that too. They are competing for our money, the more they compete the better phones we get. If it was only Samsung or only Apple making these types of phones they would start producing cheaper lower quality phones. Everyone should like Samsung, everyone should like Apple because without them we may still be using flip phones. The 1st Iphone was released 7 years ago. Look at how far the phone market has come. I am really excited about this! This phone might not have all the best specs and it's back is still covered by cheap-feeling plastic, but look at the potential of this new design! Obviously this phone wasn't made to rule the market, yet. But if the SGS6 is getting this metal band as well, along with a nie high-end material back-cover, I think we might have a pretty decent approach for the perfect phone! Nice!

The Oppo find 7 has screen off voice activation - although you have to say "Hey Snapdragon" instead, but it does the same thing - it uses Google Now and everything.

i read about that, it doesn't have any othere chip, it use snapdragon...so i think all snapdragon 801 phones can do that, problem is how good is that solution with battery life...and it is just one more phone i think all android phones need that(mid-high end)

Galaxy s5 can do that just go to settings > language and input > voice search > "OK Google" detection > and check the boxes "from any screen" and "from lock screen" it recognizes voice even in sleep mode

M8Military man you can have google now, but no voice wake-up, impossible on the normal phone without having to destroy the battery life...omg... yea snapdragon has it, but how good is it and how good is it with battery life?!

They add a little bit of metal after each iteration. That way they can keep selling it as "new and improved". We won't see a full metal until the Galaxy S100. Sometime in the year 2110

I don't get why everyone is disappointed with the quality of build from the samsung phones. I Think it's an advantage that they are made of softer, plastic materials; I'v dropped my phone plenty of time and it's never cracked, or broken the screen, or had any issues. Where as if you have metal, like iphones, and you drop it, you're most likely screwed (without a case). I understand people want "premium" feel, but what's so premium if you have to hide it in cases and get a new one every time you drop it. Just my opinion.

Good job with the one handed review! Only saw you have to use your right hand once, which was using the fingerprint sensor. The left handed peace is going to take a little getting used to though 😃✌

2:26 - "but it drops to a 12MP camera on the back"... :) I don't like iPhones (top screen navigation buttons is one reason), but the fact that they stick to their 8MP camera is one thing I appreciate about Apple. An 8MP camera takes 3264x2448 px photos, meaning a huge 11x8" print size at 300 dpi (professional printing). Plus, 99,9% of the people who buy a phone will never print one single damn photo taken by phone, let alone print one for making a poster. Furthermore, less than 1 in 1.000 people take any smart-phone pic to PhotoShop. ... so who needs 16MP? Who needs 12MP?... Even 8MP is way, waaaay more than enough. Stacking more pixels on the camera sensor means less light gets through, the photos will be noisier, will perform worse in low light conditions. An 8MP camera on a phone is more than perfect. Instead of adding MP they should ONLY work on making better and better 8MP cameras. For professional purposes there's DSLR etc.

I don't think many people print photos but many ZOOM on their photos and it does look a lot sharper. Also higher resolution video.

I hope they make the new Galaxy S like this. Semi premium is the best. I like how it's back feels, plus the premium metal sides. And the metal edges just makes it feel much safer to drop then with plastic edges.

whether it has metal, platinum, or diamond framing..will not matter, nor does anyone care if it has a "premium" feel to it. what matters is the functionality, the smoothness of software, multi-tasking capabilities, etc. Such metals get scratches on them easier, and if wanting to replace the damaged metal parts, it will cost more. rather have the durable plastic :)

The Alpha is the first to adopt a metal frame and for Samsung fans, this is a step forward for upcoming devices...starting with the all-metal Galaxy A3 and A5. The Alpha itself isn't a bad product at all, even if it doesn't supersede the Galaxy S5...and a 720p resolution sure doesn't have the same level of sharpness and detail as a 1080p, but it's good enough to please your eyes. There are other features, however, that the Alpha lacks or could have improved before launch, so in all, even if innovation always implicate high development costs, Samsung's new look on the Alpha doesn't justify its hefty price tag in my opinion.
