I just bought this computer to compliment my desktop and bring to school, and wow, it works pretty well for me since I’m using it to read textbooks, watch KZbin videos, take notes and attend zoom meetings. The only problem with it is that it does lag a little with loading pages, but not to the point where it’s unusable.

It should be able to, do keep in mind though that it is an ARM laptop so it won’t run every app natively and some heavier apps not at all thanks to the limitations of windows on ARM.

Yes, it wont. 4gb is the limitation and also the CPU I would go for a 500 bucks laptop with X86 architecture. Arm architecture is perfect for battery life but is not ready to support a full laptop specs

as a current owner of this laptop i can say it wont, even using youtube on single tab with chrome its 70-100% ram usage and also random cpu usage spikes with nothing really running. if you have 400$ to use i would spend it on a phone of same value for better performance

The 5G model finally shipped and while it does have the 8cx processor, 8GB RAM and 256GB storage - it's also $800 - more than 2x the price - which puts it into the same price point as Samsung's previous ARM "always on" system. The $350 model for light workloads is reasonable - but at $800, you can get a Surface Go with LTE right now - and the new Surface Go 3 will probably include 5G as a comparable price point - but with out compatibility issues with x86 software.

For $800 you can get the Galaxy Book 3 here which has i5 or i7 13th Gen Intel U series processors with high quality display and good sound quality too, and while U series means only light or no power usage it also means longer battery life.... though I do wish they gave at least a P series at that price range.

Good review, but people need specifics on arm, they need to know about how Chrome isn't actually built for ARM, so it's slower compared to edge. It's good to give these specifics. I plan to review this in the next week or so, and your review helps to give me a new perspective. Thanks!

Looks like a good attempt to compete with the many Chromebooks on the market today. Everything looks good for the specs but I want to see just how much more expensive is the 8gb ram model as that's what I think should be the minimum for Windows devices. I just got my Galaxy Book Go, and found out that USB-C multi hub (3 ports of USB 3.0 ports + Realtek gigabit NIC) is not working with this when plugged to the USB-C (3.1) port on the right side. It works with left side port, but the port is on USB 2.0 bus, so the speed will be capped. Could you also test this for your next in depth review?

Honestly, for the price the Galaxy Book is an Underpowered High Priced Chromebook. For $50-$150 you can buy a HP Laptop with an Intel Core I3 Processor, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, and 256GB of SSD Storage. The $220-$350 Samsung Tab S6 Lite 2022 is also a solid choice as its the most affordable Samsung Tablet to support Dex Mode and can be paired with a Bluetooth Keyboard, such as the Logitech K380 Bluetooth Keyboard.

Good laptop for the price, but buyers should know what to expect. This is literally smartphone hardware shoehorned into a laptop form factor with a special Windows build to work on it. Performance is good for daily tasks, but this is NOT for power users. Especially running legacy apps that don't have a native ARM build can be painful if it's something too demanding.

I purchased this model and ended up returning it after a couple days. The 4GB of RAM initially made me skeptical, but Windows 11 ran smooth after all software updates. It was the trackpad that really pushed me to returning it. Two-finger scrolling, tap-to-click, or just general trackpad panning was frequently unresponsive. Sometimes two-finger scrolling would stay on even if you weren't touching the trackpad. If this device was refreshed with a better quality trackpad and 8GB of RAM at the same price point, I could see these selling like hot cakes.
