Samsung galaxy note 3 with interesting WIFI fault.... Wifi won't turn on can't turn on WIFI...

Ok, here's a potential solution: This seems to be a hardware related issue. I tried whacking, removing sd card, both dont work for me. I don't want to factory reset cause many people said it didn't work as well and I'm too lazy to restore my phone. Finally I saw people said opening the mid case in the forum. I opened it, but it didn't solve it yet, but you can see near the power button is a tiny antenna for wifi and bluetooth, now, turn the phone off, remove the battery, try touching/pressing the antenna gently. put the battery back, turn it on and try the wifi again. It worked for me but I can't figure out why exactly the wifi wont turn on in the first place, I assume the antenna is faulty and the app for wifi is faulty. but at least the wifi can be turned on again, (also the bluetooth can be turned on again). if I touched the antenna, I got 1 bar from a wifi that's 5 meters from where I sit. If I remove my finger, the wifi is still on but no signal at all. apparently on the back of the mid case, there is a small iron coating that is right above the antenna if the mid case is in place. the coating should function as the dish/receiver and should be in contact with the antenna. try cleaning the coating, there might be some dirt. Voila, the wifi is back and the signal is strong again like when I bought it. I think this also could solve the problem of weak wifi signal of note 3. I don't think this will permanently solve the main issue why the wifi cant turn on, but at least I got my wifi back and I can try it again if the wifi is dead (again). Too bad a nice phone like note 3 have such a big problem like this. PS: careful when opening the mid case. there might be a hidden screw that is covered by the warranty sticker. I had to remove the sticker and the screw (automatically revoking the warranty). and careful with the battery when turning on your phone without the mid case and the back case, you need to hold the battery with your hand/finger. you absolutely don't want it to fall off when the phone is on, or your phone could damage. and please... stop whacking your phone, it may damage other ICs

I am from Penang, Malaysia. I wish to express my great gratitude to Dandy! I accidentally saw this comment and tried on my Note3 N9002. The wifi/Bluetooth problem was fixed!!! I have been living without wifi for months, waiting for opportunity to return to China for warranty repair. Have read so many forums and tried so many things without luck. Actually had concluded it is the wifi module problem and get ready to purchase the wifi chip. Since my N9002 is near the end of warranty, decided to give it a try. Thanks a lot! Dandy.

It is near the power button. Try loosen the top left and warranty sticker screws first, maybe it would cure immediately. Good luck!

After I opened the cover, the problem was fixed immediately, put back the cover, still working, but after I tightened all screws, the wifi was not able to turn on again, I then loosen the screw near the power button, the wifi is back in operation! 2 weeks is over now, still working flawlessly.

I have only had that problem with certain Rom's on ANDROID 5.0 LOLLIPOP. Installing a different Rom fixed the problem for me. Also I have read that pulling out the SD card fixes it or using a program called FXR Wifi and rescue.

I also had the same problem, but I got it solved.. All You need to do is the Factory Rest (Hard Reset)... After resting the device You will be able to Use Wifi.. Make Sure U r Using only single wifi connection and it will work fine.. Thats what I did.. If you need more clarification just let me know..

My first Note 3 with ATT stopped charging randomly 2 weeks ago. ATT promptly sent me a new replacement, but it looks like a refurb body. So I turn it on, and it charges fine. Problem is, the replacement has this same issue, WIFI is greyed out, will not turn on. Gets stuck saying "turning Wifi on...", pretty maddening. Third phone probably won't be a charm, but here's hoping.

hi dear, i had same problem with my Note 3 and i tried reseting but the problem was not solved. i desperately opened my phone and removed all the connectors, then reconnected all connectors back again and tried to powered up device and my problem was solved. now my phone is working properly. I have the same problem on my note 3 since yesterday but the strange thing is that wifi is still working and after a long time the wifi is green again.. I also have the feeling that it takes longer to become green when i press the wifi buttom, it's like that it first turn light green and than the normal green.. My question is, is wifi also working with you guys eventhough the light is grey instead of green?

Check the battery on the board, As stated in comments Galaxy S2 has similar problems because of the acid leak from battery that damage the wifi / bluetooth chip. Try reflashing other modems dedicated for the phone model......

My fone Wi-Fi won’t turn on, I use a Note 2 since last 2.5 years. I have never faced any trouble connecting to wifi till yesterday. He said remove battery for 2 hours or overnight. I will try using this technique. I hope it works. If you have any better solution please advise. I am not able to won’t turn on Wi-Fi. Presently i have switched of my phone, removed battery for a minute, but still Wi-Fi wont turn on.

Dandy Fantoan I may have cracked this mystery or it's unique to my phone. For me it all came down to SD card. I was using it on samsung galaxy note 2. When i got a note 3 pulled it from note 2 to note 3. My thinking is the SD might carry some data which is bound to conflict with note 3 programming try dismounting the SD and reboot. Hope it helps.

And nothing is help also I can't root my phone( Below the issue from one web site, BUT I DON'T CHECK IT!!! Internal SD Memory the Path /data/misc/wifi/ the File named wpa_supplicant.conf is having issue. Not going to guess what what was done on your side only that wifi cannot read that file so it just shuts off. you need root to view this file, I suggest renaming it, reboot then enable wifi again and it will create a new one. you will lose all saved passwords from the beginning of time but will be able to use wifi again.

hello guys i have exactly the same problem since about 5 days ago but now my wifi totally doesnt turn on anyyy more i dont know what to do ... i did reset to factory settings , and nothing then i installed new software for it and nothing happened as well some people told me it is the wifi antenna problem and like that i have to change the whole mother board :( please guys can some tell me what is that problem or what i can do with it ? :(
