I've never used a fold or flip but I really like how these two look this year. It's still far too much money for me but I would still love to see the outer screen on the flip made wider. I understand they want the inner screen to be the main one, but the outer screen needs to increase for me. Loving the videos and outfits MJ x

Although it still needs a bit more, I think the upgrades in this year's flip were a long time coming. This is now imo close enough to being a flagship spec phone for people to finally think about getting involved with.. I also think finally getting some form of dust ingress protection is also huge for the flip. I am looking at going back to the flip for these reasons tbh

You should talk talk about 1. How little R&D samsung did off their own and the watch ultra looks very much similar to the Apple watch ultra. Even down to the watch bands 2. Very little hardware changes this year and gave Ai features which are mostly like a software update that could have came with One UI KZbinrs like you must focus on this and call these companies out for lack of innovation.

Here's the thing people like you forget. 1. Galaxy Watch Ultra is meant to compete with the Apple Watch Ultra. So, of course, it should offer features that are comparable to its competitor. 2. Yes, the watch band looks a copy/inspired by the Apple Watch Ultra. But the watch design? I don't think so. 3. Squircle is a different form factor compared to rectangle. No one owns Color Accent, and anyone can add as many button as they want. 4. It is way CHEAPER than the Apple Watch Ultra. 5. Qualcomm steadily increased their chipset yearly + Inflation. This is only the first price hike from Samsung. OG Fold cost $1999, Z Fold 2 to 5 cost $1799. 6. There's nothing wrong with focusing on software. They just released Galaxy AI just 6 months ago. So refining it for the foldable is a must. TBH there's a lot things they need to improve when it comes to Galaxy AI

1. It's clear that the watch is designed to compete with the Apple Watch Ultra, but heavily borrowing from its design isn't the best approach. If anything, it makes the Apple Watch more appealing. Honestly, it looks heavily inspired by Apple's watch, with just a shape change to make it appear somewhat different. 2. The watch bands, software color accents and buttons, a non-functional crown button, and even small details like the activity icons closely resemble those of Apple's watch. 3. This issue isn't limited to just one product or color. Both the watch and earphones look like copies of Apple's designs, which is why Samsung is getting trolled. What are they doing with their budget? Clearly not spending on R&D. 4. It's cheaper because they've copied Apple, saving a lot on R&D costs. Also, Samsung doesn't have the same brand cachet as Apple. It's just another company among many others that copy Apple or thrive in markets created by Apple, like tablets, true wireless earphones, ARM chips for laptops, etc. 5. I'm okay with a price increase if it's justified by hardware improvements. 6. The problem isn't a focus on software, but an exclusive focus on software. We can get all these features from numerous other companies now. Samsung must have used their APIs or acquired a few startups. What has their R&D team been doing for the past year or two? The camera on the Galaxy Fold 5 is terrible for its price. Just terrible. I'm not a Samsung hater-I’ve used the Galaxy S2, S5, S8, and S10 variants, and I own a Galaxy Tab S8 and their smart monitor M8. But I've moved on from Samsung. Every time I compare their devices with the competition, I feel disappointed by their lack of innovation. I don't stick to any single brand and want to see more competition in the market. They are an established brand that like Apple, can let other companies do things first, while they wait and then refine it. Innovation is expensive in 2024. Innovation killed LG’s entire phone division and almost killed Samsung’s. Normal people upgrade every 3-4 years so to innovate every year is like burning money.

Team Flip! Color: Silver I guess because pastels are ugly as sin. I'm making the jump from Apple because they've discontinued their mini line, and I WILL NOT buy a tablet in place of a phone. My hands are too small. I'm looking forward to using the outer screen for 80% of my phone use (not a mobile gamer and never watch movies/tv on my phone) and the inner screen for mainly long-form emails and video recording/photos. If I could get a phone the size of the old iphone 3/4 models with those small screens, I would go back in a heartbeat. Unfortunately phones that size these days are from questionable off-brands and have very few other capabilities like the improved cameras. Been waiting and watching, playing with a friend's Flip5, falling in love with the concept, form, and feeling of holding a phone that's (when folded anyway) finally the right size for me. It's time to make the plunge. I'm pre-ordering the next chance I have to get to my carrier's local store!
