All these fanboys trying to make their phone "THE ONE" is so damn funny and cringe in the same time. The number of people that use their phones at their maximum capacity is so low that it doesn't even matter who has more RAM or storage. Most people nowadays use their phones for messaging, calling, social media browsing, taking photos and from time to time some easy gaming. Almost every God damn phone from last year can do all of these pretty well. Even the low range phones. So what is with all this hate ? Samsung appeals to some people, Huawei to other people, Apple to other and so on. Everyone is free to choose what they want. Instead of appreciating the fact that we evolve in technology and have so much diversity ... ya'll just arguing over who is "THE ONE". Funny and sad.

This is the point a lot of people miss and a lot of reviewers miss too ( big ones included ) ... when they review a phone ... they should think that a very big number of people will use it just as a normal device ... not as a powerhouse gaming platform, not as a professional photographic machine etc. Its normal to show all those features, gimmicks and such but a lot of times they overemphasize on these things, make a very big deal and forget that the Average Joe just wants that his phone to run smooth, to have a good battery life, to take nice photos for social media and to communicate with people. These are the core selling features of phones. Not that it has 5 cameras or 12 GB RAM or that is has reverse charging. And it is known that Facebook, Instagram etc. need to cut your photo size when you upload it ( limited space ) so a cool photo in your gallery will sometimes look like a photo taken from a 2014 phone and such. So both 1000$+ phone and 500$ phone a lot of times will look the same on Instagram. I appreciate technology and innovation but only if it makes life easier and better. And most of the times these expensive gimmicks don't do this.

Not a very good review as you are leaving out the differences between the face unlock security features which favor the Mate 20 pro but you are telling us about the difference between fingerprint scanner which favor the S10+ and what about the quick charge features of the Mate 20 pro which if I am not mistaken can be fully charged from empty in about an hour with the supplied charger. They both have quick charge features but one is clearly superior to the other. please, when doing pro and cons let hear about what both phones can do as these are key figurea that I have mentioned. FAIR COMPARISON: Huawei copied the samsung design language. Antena lines, glass aluminum frame sandwich panel with curve almoled screen and an iphone notch (oops). Adding a marvelous specs is a win win. But then, Samsung put a much high end specs, pro like cameras (watch the reviews, 2 selfie cameras with one with a 4k UHD video recording capabilty - 1st in mobile device & perfect for blogger. wow!), the best user experience (oneUI), upgraded their screen to a 1st mobile device to support an HDR10+ dynamic amoled screen (even though their old flagships are still the king in that category), super sonic in display finger print scanner?!, 12GB of ram & 1TB of storage!!!, and with all that design language and preferences that huawei copied. Adding a reverse charging that is faster and usuable compared to huawei. Its a Samsung since day one. End game, huawei left the group. lol

The whole 2018 vs 2019 thing is irrelevant, mate 20 pro is using the same processor that is going to be in Huawei's P30 pro and has already been reported to have a lower geekbench score than the mate despite using the same processor. P30 is going in direct competition against the S10, both 2019 handsets but the S10 already beats Mate 20 in benchmarks. Mate 30 pro towards tail end of 2019 will be better by which point Samsung will be gearing up their next flagship, Huawei will still be just one step behind. I'm lucky enough to work in the mobile industry and came from the Mate 20 pro to the S10+ and while there doesn't seem to be much difference initially I've noticed the S10 better able to handle day to day tasks with little to no slowdown, no gamma colour issues on certain apps unlike the Huawei, headphone Jack and expandable storage are also big deciding factors. Both are great phones to be honest and you'll get a superb experience from both, personally for me I felt the Samsung gave better value for money when compared to the Mate 20 Pro. They are comparable handsets more so than the P30 will be, so as I first mention I think the fact that the Mate coming from Q4 of 2018 is totally irrelevant.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro is better when it comes to Hardware and Software however Samsung S10plus is better when it comes to UI and display plus 5G connectivity plus more ram and storage therefore for me Huawei scored 8.8 and Samsung scored 9.0 Huawei should improve their UI and other glitches meanwhile 5G in samsung drains more your battery so im not fan of 5G.

@Jacksnake D. actually, I think this 1TB - 12 GB Variant is for Vloggers - Video Creators - Game Streamers who needs extra RAM and ROM for daily heavy tasks such as multi-tasking, video editing and gaming. As for me, I'd choose the S10e as it is the cheapest one, without too much gimmicks. Samsung wouldn't make the phone useless if it didn't have a target market. You know what is useless? You forgot the price comparison. The Huawei comes in signifcantly cheaper compared to the Samsung. I am a current user of Huawei and former Samsung user. I purchased the Galaxy S8 when it launched for $1,500 CAD, I picked up the Huawei Mate 20 Pro on launch for $1,200. The Samsung Galaxy S10+ is $1,419 before tax. Also safe to say the Huawei is older than the S10+ and is pretty incredible how they are able to be compared. It shows how much goes into the production of the phone to bring such a cheap price. Overall I still like Samsung and will purchase another Samsung product, but I have to give credit to Huawei for producing such an affordable super phone.

I agree on the reverse charging thing...but not on wireless charging...samsung made a really great job on S8 fast charging before this mate20pro (which I own and owned s8). Although I think mate20pro it's amazing I am very disappointed with video quality specially on night time, even my S7 preformed better...the only downside of this smartphone I'm afraid :( unfortunately I am not seeing any updates to improve this, which is a shame for such a great phone and too expensive to have that bad point would be perfect otherwise, and S10 kills on the notch thing but that's not a overkill to huawei
