This is the right time to do this camera comparison because the s22 family is right around the corner, I know there won't be much of a hardware change on the s22 ultra but things won't be looking good for Huawei if it can't beat the existing Samsung's flagship cuz a new and improved one is coming very shortly.

In terms of selfies Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is the winner. It has better exposure, more details. Photos are sharper and have better shadows. Not sure if the colour of your jacket is more accurate in Samsung's selfie, but the colour of the cap looks way more accurate, and in general colours are more saturated in Samsung selfies, if you like that or not is personal preference I would say.

Late comment 😁 I rewatch it on 2k display, Huawei p50 pro selfie video have better details and textures but over exposed and became terrible in the next transition it became extremely high exposure and some yellowish tint while s21 ultra have better exposure well manage highlights and dynamic range. Selfie camera s21 ultra produce better images for sure well manage exposure, better color rendition, have contrasty photos made things punchier while Huawei p50 pro produce photos in high exposure better shadow details and warmer tone When it comes to wide angle lens both phones have con and cons p50 pro have better color rendition more natural looking while s21 ultra have great details, textures and shadow details. Daytime main sensor difference is minimal p50 pro is a little ahead in details and color rendition and s21 ultra produce images in vibrant way. Human photography it's really hard to tell, portrait photos both phones have similarities in colors, exposure, and skin tones it only differ on details and textures s 21 ultra produce this better. Night photography p50 pro looks natural with better details with cooler tone while s21 ultra produce images a little saturated and better highlights.

it's difficult i have the two each other they are good phones but the p50 pro sometimes it heats up a lot than the s21 ultra taking pictures and sometimes it loses quality but they are both good cameras

The Huawei has a really attractive color reproduction algorithm. It looks very accurate and true-to-life. Samsung adds more saturation but doesn't go overboard which is a good thing. In zoom I was extremely impressed at how well the Huawei was performing with only a 3.5x Periscope lens, just as good as the Samsung's 10x Periscope lens and sometimes performing better! Indoor photography is great on both devices, but the Samsung appears to be more reliable and doesn't rapidly shift white balance after every 2 shots. The Huawei is by no means bad but the Samsung is just slightly better in this category. DENS - One of the best Night Mode photography moderation systems on YT. Samsung and Huawei both produce excellent night mode photos. The Huawei has slightly more detail like Han said. I noticed that the Huawei boosts yellow colors in its shots and this may be a result of its RYYB Sensor. Samsung still has better zoom photos at night with high detail and preserved textures. Selfish aren't bad on both, I think the Samsung does better with more accurate accurate tones, better dynamic range, and balanced contrast. The Huawei looks like it has a slight haze to its photos but a OTA update should fix this. Videos and portrait mode and definitely better on the Samsung. In conclusion, Samsung remain the kind of mobile photography sitting next to the MI 11 Ultra, IPhone 13 series and the Vivo X70 Pro+. Thanks for this wonderful video 📹❤

Suprisingly I actually prefer the colors of the p50 pro than the s21 ultra. As the p50 doesn't saturate its image as much for daytime and indoor lightings I actually prefer the p50 pro only because of the color rendition. For nightmode it's a tie whilst for portrait hundred percent samsung takes the cake on that optical zoom camera. Selfie segment samsung has way better skin tones and if you look at han's shaven beard hairs you could see more texture on hans face whilst its brighten and over exposes on hans beard hairs on the huawei . Verdict: S21 ultra

Enjoyed that. Personally, I prefer the p50pro. I think the picture quality is similar but the p50 pro has much faster shutter speed and 4D predictive focus so it's a much better phone for taking pics of moving subjects which is important for anyone with young kids who are always on the move. I agree though that portraits are better with the Samsung but apart from that and selfies I mostly preferred the p50 pro. It's a pity though that even the camera hardware has been badly affected by the US restrictions. I think for nighttime photos the Mate 40 pro+ is still likely to be better due to the better sensor and ryyb lens. Huawei won't be able to compete going forward on the same level if these restrictions remain

Huawei's selfie photos and videos are less consistent. I love selfie photos of Galaxy S21U more than iPhone and Pixel due to its detail level and color. I'm surprised with 3.5x optical zoom from P50 pro since it fought neck and neck with Galaxy on 10x zoom level. For me, I'll choose S21 Ultra for overall but I also love the daytime and indoor camera performance of P50 Pro. Like u said, software updates may make its camera performance even better.

The reason P50Pro can match (or even slightly better) S21U at 10x is because its 3.5x optical cam has a 64M sensor. Hence, I believe the 3.5x image can be cropped in for lossless zoom at 10x.

I think the P50 Pro took the better selfies because it looks more natural with less sharpening and less contrast. The wider field of view also makes it feel more "comfortable" or natural, like seeing someone in real life and talking to the person, while the S21 Ultra is "up in your face".

At my first glance galaxy s21 looks sharper but when I look in its background huawei looks bit more sharper. I think huawei can make subject more sharper through a software updation. There are some beauty mod is on in p50 pro due to that at my first glance it's looks less sharp. In my opinion huawei can make it more better due to its hardware capabilities. This was my most requested video,and here are my thoughts I really liked Huawei in many shots as it looking rich with contrast and looking eye pleasing,especially on indoors(I don't care natural colors on indoors)but in case of daytime shots and human subjects I prefer more realistic looking outputs. I prefer to memorize actual moment(of the beauty)which did great by the Samsung.(assuming close to natural like you said)in human shots samsung looking better for my eyes for some reason. Night shots are looking better on samsung which is a shame for Huawei bz they used to be the best. In Selfies sometimes Huawei failing to control dynamic range and exposure so I'm giving my points to samsung for that too. Huawei got auto focus on front cam(I don't know/not sure about samsung)so if Huawei fixed above mentioned issues then I'll pick Huawei for sure.in Portraits I don't need to say which is better,we all know that. Overall I'm agreeing to your great verdict,Samsung is the winner but I'm not saying Huawei is too far behind(most of us will not find difference unless we compare side by side). Atleast I have a chance to win p50 pro but there is no way I'm getting s21 ultra. So I love both of them. #hansquad Brother I think the two phones performed almost equally, Samsung's selfie video, human photo, portrait photo, night photo, video, selfi photo everything was much better than huawei, Samsung has tried to keep the photo close to natural, Huawei also tried to keep close to natural, but in some places a little overexposed the photo, Huawei human photo was not close to natural, slightly have beauty effect on human photo, But I like the two phones a lot, One of the problems with Huawei is that there is no Google service, If the Google service is back in Huawei then huawei will be back in the market in my opinion, customers will buy Huawei phones again with the same interest as before❤️

I think Samsung portraits are better as they have more textures and good color reproduction. Also zoom level in Samsung portraits makes them appear professional.however huawei handles exposure better. Overall Samsung looks better.

Both are neck and neck.P50 pro has better texture when shooting in daylight. But I'm not sure why you include the GMS as well as the chipset in your final verdicts. You only compare the cameras of these two, not the phones themselves. Anyway, it's a good video. Nice job 👍

I think the Samsung creates a more successful image in the selfies overall primarily due to handling of light and colour. I think both actually do a similarly good job with both HDR and detail, but the Huawei seems to neglect the contrast and saturation leaving the image looking washed out and flat. it's close in some areas but I feel that for me the Samsung is more successful in enough areas for it to be a surprisingly safe victory!

Detail of the subject, color tone and background highlight is way better on Samsung Galaxy S21 ultra selfie. The color of your jacket also highlight more vibrantly and details. The color of your face skin tone also maintain perfectly on Samsung S21 ultra. While Huawei P50 pro added more skin smoothining , their is way less details and the exposure is bit high. Overall the winner is S21 ultra in selfie.

The selfie shot with Samsung S21 Ultra looks better because the color of the jacket and your skin tone looks washed out on the Huawei picture. Also, your skin tone and details of you, appears to be more accurate in the Samsung picture. I also prefer less background details in a selfie and Samsung wins that as well.

Hi Han, I'm glad I guessed the photos taken by these 2 phones in your previous post, it means that thanks to your comparatives I'm getting good at seeing the differences. Going back to the selfie question in this comparison, I think Samsung's are better, the colors are more vivid and the white balance looks more correct although probably less natural. As I said earlier, the photos of the Samsung look ready for social media and that goes for selfies too. The fact remains that for the rest of the photos I too prefer the natural colors of the p50 pro, I prefer a natural sky and the green of the trees less synthetic, after all, if I want to play with colors, I prefer to do it in post production and to my taste which does not always coincide with that of Samsung

Now i now what makes you choose S21 Ultra as your most favorite camera. Its unexplainable😂 truly i feel that. Maybe its the Portrait & human subject since you loves to take a lot of image of your friends & family. But in my opinion it continue to deliver great photo in almost all condition even though not always be the best. Like in some scenario Huawei can give breath taking photos that looks much better but its inconsistence. Meanwhile the selfie camera is the most "Dilemmatic" thing for me. For better quality i choose S21 Ultra, better Dynamic range, skin tone, less skin fairness. But the Ultrawide lens, on P50 Pro is so usefull for me, that FOV i just loves that.

Honestly I'm Huawei fan but i will pick Samsung over the Huawei in selfie picture!! I like the Extra view in p50 pro but Samsung did better in skin tone and exposure in the jacket,cap and background it's really ready to upload social media without any edits!! Couldn't agree more than the good details being shared as the Color tone and the natural colors will b known only by the reviewers. Happy tat Huawei P50 Pro gives a flagship output though it lacks behind S21 ultra in many ways with a small margin, even the video too but not in a miles bcoz sometimes P50 Pro has a better result too. Selfie of S21 Ultra is a better choice 4 many bcoz of more punchy, saturation, contrast n vibrant output but I still love P50 Pro output bcoz it looks realistic too. I wish you kinda had less opinion on what image looks better as it is subjective from your part. The 10x photo at night was not "way better" on Samsung for example 15:10 . There are many more examples where you are just wrong on a technical standpoint. Over shapening is not equal to more detail.

The selfie photos on s21 ultra is better than the p50 Pro. The colour tone is better on S21ultra, both have good edge detection, and the s21 ultra processed texture better and also have more details. Look at the beard and the mosterge on the S21ultra.
