I hate how people starting to like camera bumps, they are ugly as fuck. 7 or 8 years ago a good phone design is that they have flat camera, like the Iphone 4-5, all the Sony phone and then the S7 to older of Samsung house. The flat camera design is way more better

Exact same. Upgrading from the note 10+ and super happy they made a phone that's essentially a NOTE. I didn't buy an upgrade last year exactly because there wasn't a NOTE to upgrade too. And I heard the s22 ultra would be the new NOTE so I waited for it to release.

As an exclusive iPhone user, the most difficult month to watch tech videos was August, right when iPhone was getting long in the tooth and the new Note would be released. I was ALWAYS so jealous of the awesome design and the s-pen in the phone. I LOVE the wider aspect ratio as compared to the galaxy 's' models; i love the boxy, squared off corners. I hated suffering through those videos knowing no matter how good the hardware was, the phone wouldn't connect to all my Apple devices like an iPhone did and thus my choice each year was limited to what new iPhone I might upgrade to. But now in FEBRUARY I have to suffer through a Note release lol. This phone looks amazing! Anyway, I'll take my medicine and continue watching.

IMHO - it comes down to this: If you are already invested in the Apple environment with a Mac and a iPad, stick to the environment for those inter-device features. Because when it comes down to it. These phones are getting pretty close to each other in their feature set. Now it is more about personal preferences than phone performance.

A lot of the camera improvements come from the new neural processing engine which means that the s21u won’t be seeing all the same improvements that the s22u gets. There will definitely be some features that trickle down tho

I have seen some comparisons and the s22U is better but there is no giant leap, it is iterate and for most, nothing worthy of upgrading. I would say, unless you has an S10 or older then the S22U is just refining what the S20U was and really not worthy of too much acclaim; just a very good phone in a world of very good flagship phones.

Wow , that's amazing . Swapping to an Android now . I hope you love it , the navigation gestures ( swipe from the right to go back ) work very well ... The customisation is brilliant ... Apps that you can put anywhere ... Cheaper apps and games ... More control of everything in the phone etc etc etc . Sorry Android doesn't have iMessage or airdrop , but the new nearby share is quick . I have an iphone 4s , that was the last one I bought , I moved to Android and never went back . Note 9 to S22U is going to be a huge noticeable upgrade. Aside from the specs, they are going to be roughly the same size but the S22U will have an immensely larger display because of how much thinner the bezels are.

Regarding brightness I played along with the S22 Ultra and it didn't seem that bright at Max until I turned on the increase brightness slider. There is an option to brighten the screen like we have the option to dim the screen.

@@kalle5548 exactly, app creators say “every android phone is different so we can’t make updates the same” I have used Apple and Android products on and off, they both have pros and cons of using. Both use gimmicks to sell their devices but with apple you have the ability to be connected between your devices (sorta) ~couldn’t get non-iphone messages to show up on my iPad~ but it still has its bugs and things don’t work how they should. Apple may be behind on some of the advancements in technology but they do eventually catch up, but they wait until it’s less buggy. Apple has tried to make their phones more personalized to the user but they aren’t anywhere close to what Android phones do for their users…

Very good, thanks. Would like to have seen any 5g speed tests. I have the note20Ultra and AT&T nor Verizon note20U get the faster c-band. AT&T shows 5G+ and Verizon shows 5GUW if picking up c-band and suggested speeds are 300mbps. I'm not finding any reviews showing faster speeds though.

Bahh, I'm so confused. I liked the functionality of my S21U, however, I like the interface and everything on the P6P more - but it just doesn't have the same level of camera clarity and battery life (granted, it has better color accuracy)... I think the S22U seems like a good choice, however, I won't jump ships until I find out whether or not the bootloader can be unlocked. I feel that if Samsung starts allowing that in NA again, then they'll sell a lot more devices there to the nerds like me lol

When I get a new note I spend about 30 minutes with adb disabling and uninstalling bloat. It's near perfect after this. I had the pixel for almost a month and it has some great things to it but felt featureless. Small things like schedulimg aod wasn't there. Ended up returning it and realized that I am Samsung going forward.

Umm as a guy who owned the s21 ultra up until recently gifting it to my mom and using it beside the 6 pro. No the camera isn't better on the s21 ultra. Pixel 6 pro consistently better especially with people and skin accuracy. Which I was waiting to test. I actually got better battery on the 6pro by a hour. I always ran the s21 ultra on QHD. Best I would get was 6 to 7 hours tops SOT. I can get 8 close to 9 on pixel 6 pro days vary. Both phones are awesome

I don't think they have the incentive to improve image processing further on the s21 ultra though, besides the only improved aspect of the camera is AI processing, so they'll make sure the s22 is better in that regard

I heard something about more real stabilization, larger 108mp pixels, that extra clear glass and the better image processor, so in paper the spec's are the same but they won't be able to bump the s21 to s22 level

Although S22U doesn't have a camera bump, the camera is not really flush with its pretty high rings which can be easier damaged than S21U. Please have a comprehensive comparison between S21U and S22U to see whether the upgrade is worthwhile, please :)

I have the 10+ as well. I can't see upgrading for the price unless it's like a steal or free. Reason being that after the 1UI4 update, my 10+ is like a new phone.

The second night picture really shows the s22 ultras improvements over the 21ultra either due to improved processing or the special glass over the camera lens or both. Look at the building to the left, the glare from lighted sign is reduced and the building behind it comes out a lot better. You can see the shadows on the building wall with the s22ultra.

I've had the s2, s3 s6 s8. Had the s8 for 5 year's and love it. But time has come to have a change, the s8 is failing. So I've jumped on the s22 ultra 512gb in Graphite on release day and can't wait to get my mitts on it, downside is i have to wait another three weeks to get it. I've always been a Samsung fan, and i cant see that changing.

so the big question, will the unlocked version come with MST (LoopPay) enabled? Hate to give up my Note 20 Ultra if it doesn't. Use it fairly often where NFC payments (still!) aren't enabled. The MST feature is listed on the global site, so some regions will get it.

I pre-ordered a S22Ultra a couple days ago while trading in my Note20Ultra which I got at launch back in August 2020. People have been commenting everywhere about how the removal of the SD card slot is a downgrade, which in some sense might be true but when we look at the overall speed of data transfer and compare the internal speed to an external SD card, the performance is definitely a big bump. Also, I have never removed my SD card once I put it in my Note20Ultra, so the removal of the card slot doesn't affect my usage, but that's just me. Adding slower external memory leads to a performance downgrade, which is exactly why Apple never offers it on their phones as they don't like to make that compromise.

It's the hassle factor though. I can get a new phone and drop my SD card in then voila, all my photos/videos/files are there in an instant. Who wants to spend ages transferring things via their PC?
