Best phone I've ever had. Im waiting for the Galaxy S6 this summer. Still though, my S4 has 0 lag since i bought it in june 2013. Full Hd screen Video quality still have me drooling. Five stars

I bought the S4 in January 2015 and thanks to this video I learned some other features of the camera that I didn't know like changing the shape of the front camera during a dual camera shoot.

Hi just got my gs4 and I love it I dont know what the fuss is about the plastic compared to the htc one or iphone but at the end of the day if you drop and crack the back of the s4 you simply get a new one to snap on you drop the htc one or iphone aluminum design and well you have a dented phone

I just got mine about 1 week ago. Aurora Red (AT&T). You're gonna love it. ;^} The front of it looks identical to the photos you've seen on Samsung's website, but the back of it has some sort of 'Shimmer' to it as though Samsung tried to give it a slightly 'Metallic' look. It doesn't look 'solid' maroon/burgundy like the front does. It matters not to me, though, because I've installed it in a great protective case! ;-) There's a TON of AT&Tware inside it, though. I don't know if you're gonna be an AT&T customer or not, but is not. I'm with Straight Talk and I desperately need to get this thing Rooted so I can uninstall all of the AT&Tware.

Hi Jon, Great to see thanks so much for sharing your import on the GS4! I was wondering I have had a iPhone 4S for about 8-9 months now, and before that I had an iPod touch and I currently have a iPad 2. I am kinda sick of iOS. I love the features of the Galaxy S4 and the air features are astounding. I love how you can rest the camera down pull a face and say "shoot " and the photo will be taken. The IR sensor is quite awesome aswell. Should I upgrade? Thanks

Great review! Can you please tell me what amount of internal memory is showing in your S4. I'm not seeing anywhere near the 16 GB it's supposed to have along with the 2GB of DRAM. PS, why are people always worried about the build of the phone. I always buy "slim version" cases with all of my phones to protect them against impact damage. I had rather damage a case than my phone.

Hi John, great Review as always, I'm an Iphone 5 user, always been an Iphone holder since the first genration, but I got board from the IOS and I want a different experience. SO, I decided to move towards Android, and I'm torn between the great titans The One and GS4. Android users advice me to chose GS4 as it is a true Android experience ... I've played with both of them, checked most of the reviews which made me more confuse. My Heart Says HTC one, but my mead says GS4? What do you think?

Really great review Jon. This has helped me decide between the GS4 and HTC One and I'm going with the GS4. The plastic back really doesn't bother me that much to be honest and whilst the HTC One does feel more premium, the GS4 has loads and loads more features in which some I could benefit using compared to other smart phones. Also, battery life is a deal-breaker for me and knowing the GS4 has a slightly better battery than the HTC One gives it the edge for me. Thanks for the review!

A great review John as expected. After this i have made up my mind and i will be purchasing the HTC one over this. I'm personally not fussed about having removable battery or storage and im not to keen on the extended camera features. I have previously owned gs3, nexus 4, iphone 5 and I have to admit that the HTC one is a bad ass phone with some serious premium build, the specs are also beast, the screen PPI is higher and the size is good for me. Thanks for the reviews for both handsets.

I love the design of the S4 and S6 devices! However, I am NOT a power user, and I prefer "budget" or middle range devices. I am currently using a Moto G as my daily driver since I dont take good care of my belonging. Previosly had an iPhone 4S and it lasted me a year before the screen stopped responding due to many falls and slips. So it is mid 2015: what could be best for me? Just get a S4, Nexus 5/6, OnePlus One, or wait for the nexus phone this year (also applies for the OnePlus two).

Had my S4 for just over a week now. bought a standby battery, but as yet have not had to use it. As the vid states, iit is truly awesome. At 73, I do like the fact that the S4 knows when the phone is in my pocket so rings the phone more loudly.

The S4 is impressive. I've been playing with the T-Mobile version all morning. (It's my friend she had it sent here) The Watch On Tv remote app is very useful and despite all the motion features the camera is awesome, the display is awesome, and the phone is snappier than a turtle on a Harley Davidson. The Speaker volume is loud when playing KZbin videos so I disagree with you Jon4Lakers on that. It's louder than my Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch and my Evo 4G. Good review by the way.

HTC one is the clear winner. I went to the sprint store to order mine and the guy played a song on KZbin so I could hear the boom sound speakers and it was absolutely incredible. Didn't sound like a phone. More like a surround sound system. He was like I'm sold. Until u hold the one and actually experience the thing of beauty u really cant say these two phones are in the same class. HTC ONE FTW

I bought the HTC One just because of the design. I think all flagship phones should have a great battery and great design. The specs are from now on not really important. I mean do you really care if it's quad core 1.6ghz or octa core 5ghz. I don't use my phone to edit HD video or some heavy things like that so speed from now on is not as important any more. I agree. Just to make a note. I've noticed many camera reviews of this and the htc one is that. The s4 shoots out slightly yellower pictures and htc with a slightly bluer tint to it.

Metal has always been associated with premium, while plastic is associated with cheap. (for good reason) For example: you never see plastic currency, and plastic utensils are disposable, while metal silverware is kept and sometimes treasured. Most watches have metal casings and metal inner workings. A car frame is metal. An aluminum trim on a car is considered an upgrade to a plastic trim. I am in no way defending the iPhone, but I am advocating the use of premium materials. (I own an HTC One)

i took a chance and bought the s4 because it looked interesting. Three things i like most so far are the screen is amazing, the camera is amazing and the build quality is amazing. The features are fun to play around with. I understand the iphone crowd as i switched from using iphones for 2 years. They are bashing the s4 because its a better phone so dont be surprised by the comments. iphone got boring for me so i switched and I couldnt be more happy with the s4 ( black) but iphones are not bad

I really like the camera features and the spec test you showed at the end, it appears it out performed htc one by quite a bit, but I am a music person, and listen to music 24/7. I know the beats is mostly hype and not 100% quality but I must say their speakers are probably going to be better than s4. I have 32gb sd card handy, but I mean I doubt the htc one has storage limitation since you can just transfer it easily with a computer. I still can't decide which one. Thoughts from users?
