Smh...niether phone is "waterproof" completely, they are both water resistant/proof up to certsin depths and up to specific amounts of time. Since when is glass better than plastic? That is completely a matter of taste or personal preference. Ive never had an issue with touchwiz but i dont like the Samsung bloatware (never used a Sony phone). The Z2 is a great phone but which is better is always going to be debatable, but one thing I never hear Z2 fans say is that the Z2 is better than the Note 3 and that really is the phone to beat spec wise.

GraysTake IP58 means the phone can be submerged in up to 6 feet of water for over an hour, because of that higher water spec. Glass looks better than plastic, and gives the phone a much more premium feel, as opposed to cheap, creaky when bent, and (in the case of the S5), ugly looking dimpled plastic. Samsung's touchwiz is laggy, slow, and just not pleasant to use. I know, I had it. Sony lightly skins android, while keeping it close to stock, without adding "features" that slow the phone down, like Touchwiz does. The Note 3 is in a category of its own, and when Sony announces the Z2 Ultra, the phablet that will compete with the Note 3 phablet, there'll be debates about that. The Z2 is (on paper), an awesome phone, for people who don't want devices in their pockets less than 5.5 inches tall

Im not saying its an awsome phone only that the whole "its hideous" reasoning is getting old soley because there are consumers like me who dont care about a more "premium"(whatever that means) build. Lets say you took the dimples off, itvwould practically be the same as most other plastic built android phones cosmetically. When I think of premium I think of whats inside the body and in that case most of the 2014 phones are still just catching up to the Note 3 even Samsungs own S5. Im 34 so I have literally seen the evolution of technology and any smartphone today is premium compared to what we had just 7-10 years ago. Oh and about the water resistance how many people are going to actually test those differences in real life? In real life the most wetness any of our phones will see is rain drops from point a to point b. If u actually get a Z2 I hope u love it, its an amazing phone, but the S5 doesnt have to be shit for it to succeed. All I'm saying is that all of these new phones are great and I'm glad that as consuners we have such a variety of choices (I'll take em all lol).

I currently have the Xperia Z, and its rated to withstand 3 feet of water (IP57), and I do use it wet. I have the satisfaction of knowing I could use this in the heaviest of rain for whatever reason. I personally like the glass, and when I think of premium, I think of feel on the outside. Glass feels better than plastic, and if you shell out full price for a phone (close to $600), I'm sure you'd expect to receive all $600-or-so worth of it. Plastic on a $600 phone, is just an insult.

I think it looks great, yeah the backs not the best looking but I would prefer to be able to take the battery out then have a metal back. A metal back that would sit behind the case that I never see so I don't care if its plastic.

Yes and no. If you tap the recent apps button you get multitasking. But if you hold the recent apps button you get the menu.

Last week I went to purchase a new smart phone since my Droid bionic became almost completely non functional. I had researched the HTC M8 and the Samsung S5 for several months waiting for their official launch. Specs were very similar I was leaning towards the S5 because of the water proofing and the better camera. Then I checked out both working models at the Verizon store. After interacting with both it was clear the HTC was by far a more well built phone compared to the flimsy cheap feel of the Samsung S5.

In the seven years the iPhone has been around there has been two different sized screens and each phone gets a little thinner and faster... I'm hoping that colder tone towards the bottom of the screen is no longer there. That really pissed me off on the S4. Also, I hate that a phone with such great specs still lags opening apps. The KZbin took 3 seconds to open it it was completely closed.

Whats the point of having a removable battery?? if you have a spare ok, but what are you going to do when you use one and then use the other but have to charge both??? i just dont get it. the only other reason i think you would need a removable battery is if your phone freezes but supposedly androids dont do that anymore says their owners.

I have the nexus 5 and I will take any day over the s5 Samsung puts all these different features on the phone that people don't even use. The nexus 5 is smooth, fast and just a around great phone. To me the nexus 5 is what u call a phone price wise and screen size and feature wise I love my nexus 5 and I think recommend this phone to everyone.

Who really uses a do not disturb mode? Anyone who's ever had to sleep, but still needed to receive important calls from one or two people while silencing all other calls and notifications. It really IS a useful feature. I've tried a few 3rd party apps in the Play store that supposedly do it, and none of them work quite right.

Corey Wells Stock used to be great but its just so plain, low featured and well.....ugly. I think Sense 6 looks pretty awesome because its flat and coherent all throughout. Just an opinion though, stocks only benefit is its speex

Corey Wells the LG G2 is what the N5 should have been....the N5 screen looks washed out compared to the G2, the G2 camera is a lot better then the N5.....the battery on the N5 is horrible compared to the G2, an as far as speed, the G2 is just as fast an smooth as the N5 any day, an LG'S UI isn't bad at all....

Lipupo100 I don't like the way sound is muzzled when you sit it down. What's worse to me is that the one speaker isn't that loud or pleasing to the ears. The LG G2 has speakers on the bottom and even that is better than the back (to me).
