Replacing a Samsung Galaxy s6 battery is a fairly easy process common indications of a faulty battery are the following:
- Randomly turning off eg. once it gets to a certain percent
- Battery only lasting a hour or two
- Boot looping (only gets to the Samsung logo screen when turning on)
Although these can be indications of other problems, most of the time I see the battery is the main cause of this issue.

Thanks, Samsung. Not only is the battery hard to replace, but it sucked even when it was brand new, pretty much guaranteeing it needing replacing sooner or later...

You think this one's hard, you should check out the disassembly process for the S22. You basically have to tear the phone down to its individual components, including removing the motherboard! Just to get the battery out! They're monsters.

Ty.....i watched 2 freaking videos and the people who did the video didnt say a word. One of them even had "Talks" in their channel name. 12-16 minutes of NO speaking and repetitive techno made me want to break my phone instead of fixing it. Ty "Info Hut" for not being socially stunted and actually giving instructions.

I followed your guide and successfully changed the battery but I used double sided tape to put it back in and when I was using the phone I realised I didn't get any game audio unless I was pressing on the bottom of the screen. When I opened it up again to take out the battery to remove the tape at the step of lifting the phone from the front I put the pick in the wrong spot and seperated the screen slightly. It seemed to press back together alright but I had to insert a tool to position the metal speaker cover in place. After taking out battery and removing my tape and putting the phone back into the frame when I power it on now the screen stays black and the LED in the top left stays a solid blue. I don't get a splash screen or any display at all. Holding power button doesn't turn off the phone I have to disconnect the battery connector manually. Any idea what I need to do to fix it? I've removed all the logic board from beside the battery and reattached them to make sure it didn't come loose but it made no change.

Hey I'm going to do this but am wondering how do connect the little square part of the battery do I just push down? And with the adhesive is it good (meaning nothing will rattle or fall off)

Hi. My Samsung s6 crashing randomly even after factory reset and then tried new firmware, correct download from sammobile, including deleting cashe. Sometimes it tries to reboot and sometimes successfully. The battery sometimes last all day easily as normal and other time runs out quickly. Only once I noticed the back of the phone warm at that point. It will do this in airplane mode to ( wifi on) I have charged the battery just now to 100%. Then it crashed soon after. Afer the crash it read 67%. Its done this before and gone from 100% to 1% after a crash. The percentage on screen is mostly always the same as the turned off reading when I plug in the charger! Its even crashed when in safe mode! Sometimes it won't boot without being plugged into charger. It feels like the phone is getting a false battery reading sometimes. Could it be a battery issue? But how does it then sometimes behave normally? I hope some of these clues will help. I'm not a developer or guru so please keep that in mind as I don't understand the programming lingo. Thanks for any help or ideas you can give.

ive heated the back and the adhesive is too strong... i dont wanna fight the resistance and crack the glass... or am i not heating it enough? using a heat gun and the phone is too hot for me to hold.

for random help I know this is old post, I have done this before with hair dryer and a razor blade and suction cup tool that comes with the kit. be patient and slow. Razor blades are thin enough and sharp to get in there and cut the adhesive and not pry up enough to crack the glass.doing this again on my s6 during lockdown second time same phone. last time battery lasted maybe a year..but I like the phone so here we go again.

Please don't ever tell anyone that it is ok if you do damage to the battery. Even an old bad battery can be very dangerous. If you scratch a hole into the case of the battery it will flare up in fire so fast that you could get burned real bad and completely destroy the phone. Lithium Ion batteries are nothing to mess with.

Decent but not the best guide. You should NEVER use metal prying tool on phones. Get guitar pick or similar tool. Using metal on metal/plastic guarantees scratches. You should tell people how many screws are there. It is easy to misplace them.

Don't use anything to get the screen out. It comes off with a click without any tool, and without "scratching paint". Click it off from the top and it will be all right.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to stop you right there. Anyone who's done a lot of this kind of work knows that demonstrations of what can go *wrong* are the BEST examples you can find. Those videos where they just yadda-yadda over all of the actual work with time skips, while they pretend everything goes so perfect and easy, are worthless. "Zip-zip, and the cover pops right off!" Meanwhile you're there about to snap the cover in half prying too hard. Yes, he ruined the *finish* on the BEZEL of the screen (big deal), and now you'll be more careful not to do that!
