For me, the Edge isn't worth the extra cost. I also held one at Best Buy and I didn't like the in-hand feel. Additionally, I noticed that when I was gripping it normally, I couldn't interact with the screen to swipe with a finger from the same hand (like palm rejection wasn't working). Pretty happy with my regular S6.

Very well said. Clearly, the Edge isn't for everyone, which explains why Samsung released two variants of the same phone. The added functionality won't appeal to everyone, and thus will not warrant an extra $100. With that said, some of us thoroughly enjoy the unique premium design. I love the Edge, because I know that there are currently no non-Samsung phones like it. It looks beautiful, and feels great in the hand. Either way, I believe that Samsung did a great job of addressing the criticisms of the past and hit one out of the park with both phones. Your review is a great example of that.

Standard GS6. You can get it with dual SIM Cards, and it's much more comfortable to hold without a case.

Honestly in my opinion, Samsung are a very good brand and especially in cameras, but when it comes to front facing, why do they just slack back and dont make it sharp. For example if you look at the s5 camera, the back is exceptionally good but the front lacks the sharpness that me and im pretty sure everyone is looking for, and now with the s6 edge n s6 im seeing the same thing. Do you think Samsung should work harder on their front cameras or nah? I think they should, if u compare it with others. But anyways nice video and keep up the great work!

I'm due for an upgrade (four years since my last phone, which is an eternity with regards to technology) and handled the S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge+. The curved screen is neat, as well as the respective notification options. However, I'm a security guard and not a techie...I need a durable, reliable tool and no real need for bleeding edge gadgets. I ALWAYS have some sort of cover on my phone and didn't see an Otterbox available for the Edge models. Not like I drop my phones deliberately, but again, I'm out in the field and sometimes things happen. Don't get me wrong, the fit and finish appear superb but the better option for me is the S6.

Sounds like the Galaxy S6 Active is the phone for you man. It's water resistant (Can be submerged in 1 meter for 30mins.) It's IP 68 so it's also shock and radiation resisitant. It also has a cool blue active key the other s6's don't have. Also the phone has a MUCH bigger battery to last longer. 3,500mah to be exact. I recommened it for you haha it's a phone worthy of Batman

You should definitely look into it. The phone itself is an Otterbox armor case haha and it still all has the EXACT specs as the regular s6's. So still had that great 16mp rear camera and 5mp selfie camera.

I personally prefer the Edge due to its exclusive feature, but at the end I think that the classic S6 will do everything in the same way, letting us to save more money. And by the way, I don't know why Samsung decided to focus so much on notification functions for the edge display, while we are in a period in which there are a lot of smartwatches. My doubt is: if the edge display is useful for notification, I may be happy, but in the near future we will be immersed in a internet of things environment with notifications everywhere, so why do I need an edge display? Samsung has not answered yet ;)

I'd go for the "standard" Galaxy S6 because I like recycling my devices when they get old, and flash custom ROMs. So the edge at that point would be useless if you were running something like a stock-android-like firmware.

I listen to a lot of music on my phone, and I was wondering if the Touchwizz music player is "gapless", if you know what I mean. I think they messed up with the night clock. Yes AMOLED only lights required pixels but it seems as if all the pixels are lit for night clock. Did you notice that as well?
