This is a fantastic video for my case. I intend to sell my Samsung note 8 due to its stupid navigation. I also try to find the issues and causes on the Internet but all people got the same problem as me. Finally, I find the issues and solution via this video. Thanks a lot

@@swonghobby I have just checked my phone this problem. When I removed the cover, the phone can start to navigate. However, it does not work and find direction during the time on the street. Just want to recommend anybody that does not buy a Samsung phone since it has a big prob with google map.

@@ducmaianh I had two Sony smartphones before I buy Samsung and they was working without problems, but after I bought Samsung I got similar issue with Google maps that nobody can solve.

Appreciate this video, man. My job wouldnt even let me work til I got the GPS issue figured out on my phone. He tried to blame it on Cricket service even tho I used Cricket for 12 years just fine. Then he tried to say it sounded like I needed a whole new phone, even tho I just got this one a few months ago. I tried bout 100 things that didnt work, til I found this video and it was EXACTLY the same thing my phone was doing... I never woulda thought of it being my new phone case (actually i think it was the foil tape i put around the top and edges of the case to make it look silver). But gettin rid of all the foil tape fixed it! THANKS!!!!!

I know how you feel, I was very frustrated. Took me weeks before stumbled into this issue. The carriers are not the issue, if anything, it's the phone. Should not have done that from a case. Glad it help

OMG thank you so much for making this vlog. I am now able to use my GPS. I had cut off the rubber top and bottom portion of my phone case near the small little pin hole which I am assuming is the location for my GPS signals. I am now able to get GPS on all apps with no problem. My thing is I have been using this case for a while and had no issues with the GPS till about 6 months ago. Not sure why the case started blocking the signal. Problem fixed now

Hmmm! Interesting that we share the same problem. I have had my s8plus never had an issue ever since I got it new on contract until recently my phone contract is ending this may.

yes, mine was the same when it works. unfortunately Samsung was not doing anything to fix it. sorry you had issues too.

But my S8plus gps lagging issue started way after I had had the case for a while, regardless I still think it could be the case as well. I will test it without the case. Thank you for the video.

I have to get a new gps. It tells to make a turn at the last minute or its giving me the run around and takes me on a longer route

My problem with Samsung 5g is happening exactly like your problem. Thank you for the tip how to fix it.

I would suspect it is because the top cap you have removed is chrome/metallic plated and acts as a R.F. radiation shield blocking the satellite signal from being received. If you have a look online the GPS antenna is exactly the same shape as this cap, bit of a dumb design..

I have a phone cover on mine too and its been fine for months...my problem is exact same as yrs but why would my phone cover cause my problem when it hasnt previously so i think there is something else wrong with my phone i dont know but i have same phone cover ive had on for almost a year now but ive had this problem for 2 weeks...can anyone help me please!!!?...

google maps is not to be trusted at all. i guess it's not a gps issue on your device but rather a software problem. try to use any other decent navigation software. i personally use maps of nokia with pre loaded maps in my device. it's flawless and makes almost no mistakes on the road, plus you've got the real time road updates if the cellular network is enabled. but i never use google maps as to navigate, not a good experience with their services. but i can be mistaken as well in regard to this device, however never had any similar issues with s6 model

Anton Dlev Google maps is the best you got. It was not a map issue. It was a signal issue.

Ramazan Kilinc sorry about your issue. It really sucks. Go without the case. That was my problem. With the case, GPS does not work, but without the case, it seems to be fine. So just use the phone without the case. No fix for it. S ND to Samsung 2x, no fix for it. If you just purchased it from a company, maybe return it.

Ramazan Kilinc sorry, that was what I found from mine. If you have a different GPS issue, it could be the GPS sensor inside. Call Samsung and see what they can do for you.

That was mine issue. So weird. I think the S7 clearly has an issue. Samsung just don't want to be responsible for it. Good luck.

Just buy an second hand apple phone, there are no GPS problems to be fixed on them, it just works.
