STILL have my S9+ after getting it on launch day March 2018. 5 years. Still works. Though, has trouble holding a charge sometimes and once in a while loads slow. Still best phone I've ever had.

Going to replace my battery tomorrow and I'm still using it 🙃 Changed my battery 2days ago now the phone performance drastically improved also battery backup improved as well. Cons after battery replaced now waterproof technology gone.

Watching this on a Galaxy s9 plus and its still performing well in July 24th , 2023 and the cameras are still pretty good after 6 years battery life is decent, getting ready to have some do a custom software on it so I can keep using it, can't afford to buy another phone right now.

A couple things that keep me from upgrading from my Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus is the SD slot and VR capability. I may not use the headphone jack but I appreciate it. 64 gig version too 4G RAM

Get a s20+ then it still has SD slot and VR capability but its wayy newer and better with muchhh more features and it has a wayy newer android and OneUI version, 120hz instead of 60hz , 2x the ram if u get a s20 ultra

Still using the Samsung Galaxy S9+. I really can't without the SD card and headphone connection for livestreaming (which is really good to have with a wired headphone since BlueTooth will even drain the battery even more). I add a powerbank in the USB connector and I am good to go. Also, I think the camera is still one of the best camera's. Modern phones have more megapixels but the photo's are sometimes worse even (probably due to oversharping or having too many megapixels which means more noise due to a smaller pixel pitch). 2 Lenses for wide to tele is really the only thing you need anyway, as long you have BIS when it comes to optics of the lens and the sensor (which are truly amazing actually on the S9+, the image quality is still one of the best I have seen, even in 2023). The other point is the sound quality...it's very good for a phone, movies can be watched without distortion of sound. I use the S9+ next to the Samsung TAB A7 and can connect both devices easy with a USB-C to USB-C cable. This combination makes both devices into a true production setup on the go. Even with the Asus Zenbook everything fits in a small laptopsleeve. Battery on the S9+ is a bit problematic but maybe I need to replace the internal battery (it has still the original 3-4 year old battery).

how the s9+ could be improved similar to like lets say the Moto g stylus 5g is that if it had like new internals especially if it supported 5g options to increase the storage as well as additional cameras ,like if you had a option that instead of the two cameras by its self why not have a way to stick on additional cameras, similar to how the Moto g stylus 5g has its 4 camera layout in a perfect square quad layout also, it would need a budget stylus option

The point is, you can get second hand S9+, in a good condition, for like 100€. In terms of performance, S9+ beats Samsung's modern budget smartphones (A54 for example, which was released this year and cost about 500€ new) in every competition, including performance and camera quality. It has SD card slot so memory doesn't really matter. For average person - by that I mean someone that's mainly uses his device for calls and messages, sometimes play simple games to kill the time or take some pics from time to time - S9+ will last easily 2-3 more years before it really start to show his age.

I think in a lot of ways the headphone jack is a nice to have rather than essential. - Nice to have to plug in aux in car - Nice to have if bluetooth headphones/earphones have died - Nice to have if you forgot earphones, can just buy some cheap ones and plug in - Nice to have simply because most earphones you already own are AUX. Most of this is negated by a simple adapter. Also USB-C wired earphones are readily available now. In fairness I say this as a regular user of the headphone jack. I still think it is a bit of a con that it has been removed and I do think it should be returned to devices. The main reason it was removed was to boost sales of bluetooth devices in my opinion. For context I daily drive an S9 and I love it.

I'm still using a refurbished S9+, I purchased in 2018. It's never had a screen protector, or a case, and is doing great. I use 1st generation Apple Earpods (2012) with it. No pairing, or charging required. The display resolution is still higher than current iPhone flagships. I have 64gb storage, with a 64gb micro-usb, but it's borderline enough. Recently, I've noticed more apps cutting off support past the S10. I'm thinking about upgrading to a S23 Ultra, or possibly trying iPhone 15 Pro Max. I've enjoyed, and trusted the S9+ so much, for 6 years, so I hope I make the right decision.

The battery on my s9 plus was very bad so I bought a replacement and tried replacing it myself but in the process I damaged the back screen and bought a new phone. I miss the s9 plus. Samsung apps are amazing, the screen was amazing, the headphone jack was underrated, I had to root it to customise the bixby button but then it was good, the design was amazing, the rear finger print sensor felt good to touch. I might repair it and go back to it and sell my new phone because it was perfect except for the battery.

I’m still using this phone as my main driver. Still holds up. To be honest, if and when the time to get a “new phone” drops, I might consider the budget One Plus Nord N30. Yes, it is technically a downgrade from the S9 plus. But, it still has the micro SD slot, the headphone jack, physical finger print scanner within the power key, lcd screen, but a 5000maH Battery. And it comes with a charger.

I found this in my closet while cleaning it out. Wow! Compared to today's phone this is way too slow. Once you experience 120hz you can never go back. I would not recommend anything that is not 120hz these days.
