Finally took the jump and got the Wide V2 lens and...holy crap. The 18mm range this lens has gives you a whole lot of versatility. There's the issue with lens flares but they're not too bad and by framing a shot a bit differently, they can add character. Now to just get the telephoto lens and when it comes back in stock, that glorious Anamorphic lens.

Thanks for the real comparisons, guys. Much appreciated. I would like to suggest for potential video for you to do for Samsung 7 owners like me who are considering upgrading to the S9. OR to the LG V30. Here is what I am trying to figure out. Shooting corporate vids at 1080P and 60FPS - what happens with auto focus on the S9? For example, I am on wide lens - aiming downward focused on a cake 2 feet away - I tilt up to a person across the table 6 feet away from ye olde cake. What happens? There is no time to do a manual touch the screen to refocus on the person 6 feet away. On 30 FPS, bingo - tilt up and it refocuses. If not Samsung 9, what about LG V30? There are certain circumstances where an auto focus pull focus is a huge help. And of course the rage is shooting at 60 FPS. So, wanna do something on the subject of auto focus pull on Samsung 9, LG V30 or any iphone? I won't buy an IOS X, but I do have an IOS 7 in a box. I do have a question about external mics and getting them to work with Samsung 7 or 9 - but that question is for another day. Great work and I look forward to getting your case and lens once I decide whether to buy a S9 or an LG V30. Over to U.

These lenses look fantastic, but what concerns me is the long term support. They cost a lot, and would be worth it, IF I knew future phones would be supported. But the mounting mechanism already changed once, it may change again rendering your lens useless with a new phone. This is one thing that made GoPro so successful, they standardized the mounting.

I really like they way you make your videos. However, I have some negative feedback only after watching a couple. In this case, I missed some details/technicalities that you could've incorporated to the overall entertaining nature of the video. You didn't necessarily have to include that extensively in the video, but I didn't hear your conclusion on S9's f/1.5 vs f/2.4 (where I'm pretty obvious you did more extensive testing). Your test for infinity focus in daylight for different apertures was indeed something I'm interested in as well. Also, when making your add-on lens comparisons, it would be useful to either get an equivalent 35mm format focal length numbers (before/after), or at least show a frame-in-frame tripod shots where the difference would be easier to see. Keep up the good work!
@kicknadeadcat6 жыл бұрын
As an amateur photographer I know that depth of field is important for very close up photos. You like the subject to be sharp in the background to be blurry. Lower number on the aperture say 1.5 will give you extremely shallow depth of field. Which means the object that you’re focus on might be focused in the center of it but start to go out of focus towards the middle and the rear of the object. I know a focal length difference tween 1.5 and 2.4 may be minimal but it may be the difference between getting an ants body in focus or only its head.

Really good video always nice to watch caleb's skateboard action moves in style :) ... I like the reds on note 8 the S9 seems little yellow on reds but they improved the clarity and noise reduction in S9 which is good @ 10:25 ...On the S9+ wide lens @ 11:21 there's little aberration on top of the image its very obvious maybe it was shot on f/1.5... Anyways its all comes to personal preference though... #loveforlatte niles

With the Moment Cases you can mount the Lens on either the normal camera or the 2x camera. There isn't much of a need for a lens that covers both cameras at the same time, the only use for that would be to make Portrait mode work with lenses on the 7 plus, 8 plus, X, and Note 8.

most people buying moment lenses are photography-enthusiasts therefore they will shoot in RAW whenever possible. Can you guys do a comparison of RAW photos and which phone offers the most play when it comes to editing in Lightroom? This to me gives me the best insight in terms of what phone I'd like to have in combination with moment lenses of course.

BTW - not lightoom mobile, but actual lightroom on a PC/MAC. I'd like to see how sharpness and noise can be handled in using the RAW photos from each phone. Basically, o a review for the photographer that needs a phone that can produce editable images.

I'm a fan of the lenses, so I have three lenses, the lens case, BUT... it would have been cool if Samsung would have allowed some really great features to be available in apps like Filmic Pro. I mean, c'mon.. NO frame rates above 30FPS??!! Really? I'm guessing the S10 MIGHT be better at more creative control when it comes to creating content. Maybe....I'm not upgrading to the S10 right after spending this kind of money on the S9+. I cant. Many people were hoping that once the bitchin' started about how limited the S9+ is in features outside the stock phone app, they would provide an update, but, I dont think that will happen. Anyway, the anamorphic lens and the 18mm are killer.. the 58mm is now a must. Keep up the good work.. Samsung, you had a chance to make the S9+ leaps and bounds above the rest, if youd let apps like Filmic Pro and the Moment app, have full control over manual features. Man, this, combined with higher frame rates and the anamorphic lens, could have been the standard in mobile film making.....
