Why are ppl making a issue out of the s9 to s8, and saying it barely changed? It has 9 new features. Here's the facts. What can people say that's different from the pixel 1 to pixel 2 besides the camera? Funny how the pixel 2 has slow motion at 240fps in 720p, while the s9 has 960fps in 720p and ppl are complaining about Samsung being at 720p, but not the pixel. No one can tell me what's so good about the pixel besides the camera and faster updates. Samsung is obviously the best overral phone. Lg didnt even change the lg v30 to LG v30s, HTC doesn't even makes phone anymore. Sony just now changed their box design after 5yrs. Motorola phones look the same for the last 3yrs. IPhone literally had the same phone design for 4yrs (technically 10). But ppl gave it a pass and said they've updated the camera, speed and resolution. What the hell did hwauwei change? Reviewers/ppl are always critical on any thing Samsung does, but give passes to other manufacturers. the s9 isn't for s8 and note 8 users. Clearly the s9 isn't marketed for them because those phones are fairly new. The s9 is for s7 / note 5 /2016 Samsung users and below. Ppl need to Stop complainin. If you're happy with your phone then stick with it, because no phone manufacture "innovates" every single yr

D- Sean I didn't read your whole paragraph but for the most part you are right. They don't bitch about other brands because it's not the top brands. Everyone either fakes shots at Apple or Samsung. They expect every year to get something brand new with a different look. Honestly I don't knock either. I think the s9 is a good upgrade but not necessarily needed if you have the s8. The pixel to the pixel 2 the same thing other then camera and processor everything should be about the same

The point isn't for ppl to manually switch the aperture. The point is for the phone to do it automatically in low light. It makes perfect sense, and I don't think it's a gimmick at all. A larger aperture gives better low light performance, but in something as small as a phone usually trades off sharpness. A smaller aperture makes sense for daylight shots as you will have more in focus + a sharper picture. Basically, it gives you the best of both worlds by switching automatically, and the user doesn't even have to know the feature exists. Hope this comes to more phones instead of the really dumb low light camera the 5T has which is actually worse in low light.

The only things I think can improve now is durability, battery life, screen resolution, and of course software. A lot of phones already have great designes. What's on the inside can be improved though.

I would never pick a S8 over the S9. Not only is the S9 perfecting what the S8 is, keep in mind Samsung is not that great at keeping their older model phones updated. you buy an S8 now you will probably only get one more OS upgrade and it could be year or more from now....

How often does the avg Joe upgrade? Every 2 yrs...Samsung has refined the S8 to the benefit of those who could only renew or upgrade from March 2018. So instead of getting the brilliant S8 that is a year old already, they listened & made the changes lacking on the S8, with some useful additions. Pretty great imo & Samsung should be praised & not criticised for it! Apple is famous for their incremental upgrades to the iPhone. The only true criticism of Samsung for the S9 is that it should've had the dual camera & the extra 2gb of ram & maybe a slightly bigger battery. Nonetheless, still a great phone doing everything you could expect from a modern flagship phone. Definitely one of the best All Round phones you can buy today.

PetePlays chrome sucks on my phone. Takes a lot of memory. Reloads the whole list of pages when I just do small gaming for some time. I think Samsung's internet browser beta does a better job! Has an inbuilt adblocker, dark mode, auto fill p/w, much smoother interface. You should give it a try.

I think you didnt turn on dolby... The sound is amazing. More impressive than the pixel's speaker to say the least. Camera got a nice upgrade and you might say that design wise it hasnt changed, which is true, but still.. the design of the s8 was beautiful and so is the s9. When you reach the peek, it is hard to go even further beyond. Going from 70% to 90% is easier than 90% to 95% for exemple. It might not be a good upgrade from your s8 but I would definitely recommend it to someone with a s7 or an iphone 7. It would be a major upgrade. Iphone 6,6s,7,8 have literally not changed over the years but people keep buying them and tech youtubers like you recommend them. Why wouldnt you do the same with samsung..?

Why are you not using the Intelligent Scan? It's more secure and a lot faster than using the Face Scan only.

Punishable Music I don’t know who told you that. Researchers advised that Intelligent Scan uses face recognition first and then iris scan if it doesn’t recognize you, and if neither work it uses both to see if it is likely to be you. It is not as secure as fingerprint sensor and I don’t know if they even let you use Samsung Pay with IS? Face ID is many times more secure than IS so if you value security the s9 is not great using IS. Most don’t need to worry about security as most thieves will not go to the effort to unlock IS, but if you are a business user I would never risk IS, more a convenience feature than security.

andyH_England if I was a business user I would definitely use an iris scanner, which for the most part is more secure than faceID. Do remember faceID can be tricked by a family membed, the same way iris scanner can be tricked by a high quality photo of your iris. Just for info samsung doesn't allow IS for samsung pay. All in all IS is just for those ppl who either think iris scanner is slow or face scanner doesn't work in darker conditions! For regular users fps is more than enough

Wait until the note 9 comes out.....It's gonna be unstoppable. For the past few years Samsung has been on top. Since at least 2014 the best phone was a Samsung and they are always bringing game changing features to their phones. The s9 is already a beast. So the Note will dominate. Watch out Pixel 3.
