You are getting a lot of great value if you consider longetivity. Case in point, my almost 4-year-old Tab S7+ runs circles around my son's Tab A9+. Not a direct comparison by any stretch of imagination, but still the value that it still provides 4 years later is massive.

I'm getting on in years, and the Plus form factor is perfect for reading small text without a lot of punching and zooming. I can read e-textbooks, PDFs, and digital comics just fine. Those 11 inch tablets are just a bit too small for me. I watch a fair amount of KZbin, but not any TV or movies. I also do very little gaming, so I'm not doing the things normal people do with tablets. The Plus size is also great for spreadsheets, word processing, and other laptop replacement functions.

I just bought the 9+ last month because I didn't know the 10 version was coming out that soon. But anyway, I don't see a very good reason to make the switch to the 10+ now. The differences are to little.

Personally if budget wasn't a factor I'd go with the Ultra for the screen size. I use my tablet primarily as a media consumption device with gaming (retro emulation, PS1 and PS2 emulation primarily) a close second and productivity a distant third. I primarily use my tablet at home and use my smartphone out and about so portability isn't an issue for me with my tablets. Smartphones are so big now I don't mind using them occasionally for media consumption on the go. As I've said previously I've pretty much replaced my laptop/desktop with a tablet now. For those who have a case-use like me I think the Ultra is a better choice, again if budget isn't a constraint.

If you just want a bigger screen size and don't care about the latest model, then you can get the s9 ultra at Best Buy 300 dollars off right now during prime day deals. But I think it will be up to 400 dollars off during Black Friday .That's what I did last year, I just wanted a bigger screen and got the s8 ultra because it was $400-$500 off compared to the s9 ultra at that time.The s9 ultra is going for $899 compared the s10 plus is $999.

This was my entry point into the tab series. I plan to use it to work outdoors and in cafes so the anti reflective is really useful. Upgrading doesnt make much sense to me tbh but its amazing as an entry.

That's the kicker. Your distance language of how you got yours and offering of advice to buy used is directed towards someone who doesnt have a tablet. If the person doesnt have a tablet now, and can buy this new device, new, they should buy this 'new' device. If you have budget restraints. Sure. Go buy used or finance the new device through your carrier. Implying the S8 is better purchase, but you have to purchase used, then purchased used and the device received is crap. That's waste money from your budget.

I think the antireflective coating and the 7 OS updates are a big deal, much more than the processor. However I am not upgrading anytime soon, especially not at currenty prices, having a S9 11", S8 ultra and S7 FE (the last is used as a monitor, so really doesn't matter what's inside)

I think you'll be really happy with it. I got both of them myself and I can make a good case for both of them. At first glance, the Ultra just blows you away. The screen is a lot bigger. But the profile is huge. Especially with the book cover keyboard, because it not only has the keyboard like a normal laptop, but it has a kickstand on the back. So it takes up more space than a laptop would on your desk by a large margin. It's also a lot heavier. The plus model feels pretty light to carry around. The Ultra model, if you're having to present something, and you're holding it by one side, it's just a lot more difficult to hold for longer periods. Obviously it's still light. But the screen is so big it is harder to especially when just holding it from one side. We have 13-in laptops out there. And typically for years, the tablet has always been about 12.4 in. That's roughly the size of most Surface pros in the past. So the plus model is just big enough to have full size keys on a keyboard. But it's just small enough to be portable and bring it with you on the go. And it's hundreds cheaper.

Probably, the ultras are focused on illustration and digital art. As an illustrator myself, I can say that sometimes it's great to have a bigger canva. That being said, I use an s9, and since I'm always on the go, the smaller size is more convenient for me. It's all about the purpose that you gonna give to the tool.

I got the tab S10 plus a couple of days ago and am shocked at how good the performance is. It feels snappier than my S24U and a world better than my now ageing gracefully Tab S7. My first mediatek processor device and consider me impressed. 👍

I hated Samsung's tab s8+ keyboard. It wasn't lit, and I hated hitting a FN button and a volume to change the sound level. I wish they made them like Apple's keyboards. They're lit, and you just press one button to change volume, skip tracks. And Samsung's keyboards are mushy. I may try out the Tab S10, but I hope there's some improvements in the keyboard.

I put a 🎉lot of thought into size. The ultra is always tempting, but i went plus and love the portability. I went S6 to S9+. That was a huge change. I will use this one for quite a while but am getting a friend the S10+. She doesnt want the ultra size either.

Great thought process. And you made a good choice! I'm using the S10 Plus right now from a Mexican restaurant. Feels more than big enough to get work done, the keyboard is more than big enough too. It's the perfect size in my opinion for MOST people.

Bit annoyed that they left out s10... I bought an s9 but bought it later in the year on sale. All the covers and slim keyboard covers are sold out so I was just gonna wait for s10 accessories... still love my s9 and I have the accessories for it that work fine

Samsung saved me from making a purchase decision by removing the base 11 inch model. I don't want anything bigger due to size constraints, so the Tab S9 is still the best for me. Had there been an S10, I would've been compelled to trade in and upgrade seeing that all the S9 accessories can be reused, simply because the anti reflective screen is so impressive.

Well the S10 Plus is definitely better. But it doesn't mean it's a better value. If you find a great sale on the S9 Plus, yeah it's going to save you a little bit of money. But the yes 10 plus is definitely better.

I'd say the S9 Plus, if you find a crazy good sale on it, it may be the best value. The S10 Plus is going to be the best tablet though between the two obviously. And it has 7 years of software updates which is a massive upgrade, so it should have more longevity

Honestly no. Last year they didn't do much for Black Friday. I'm not sure they'll be much this year either. Last year they just brought the pre-order deals back. They did free storage upgrades. All they did this year was a free keyboard and some good trade-ins. I doubt they'll do much more. That's just my take

Samsung definitely makes the best tablets in the world. I am rooting for the MediaTek chips in these. They have native ARM-designed CPU and GPU. This suggests ARM is competing with the top industry players in SOC design which will lead to more competition.

ARM designs are definitely not the best, Apple SIlicon is clearly ahead and the new Snapdragon 8 gen 4 will finally not be a design from ARM, but a in-house chip like Apple Silicon and should outperform any ARM designed SOC

@@adaml.5355 No, that's not thanks to ARM, that's thanks to TSMC new nodes, 9400 uses the same node as the M4, and guess who is better? And thanks to v9, but everyone is moving to v9.... The confusion people have is due to them seeing benchmarks without knowing what's the source of the improvement. Like lunar lake, people say wow Intel is now competitive, no, it's just using TSMC, losing money in the process... Samsung realized that their fabs are not competitive so instead of relying on Exynos their are moving to Mediatek, which is still cheaper Qualcomm ($155 for the 9400 vs $190 for the faster 8 gen 4)

The colors seem to be warmer on the S10+ screen. Is it just an impression? It's quite important for people using the tablet for photo editing. The S9 is known to have calibrated and accurate colors so if they look different on the S10, it means that the calibration isn't that good.

@@barbancourt69 I agree for video editing. However, premium tablets can now handle photo editing really well and have perfect calibrated screens. To me, it became a perfect tool for that, especially with the pen.

It will be some pros and cons for you. You won't get the AMOLED display. And remember you're basically getting a mid-range device when you did have a flagship. So you might even have a small hidden performance too. But you will get a water resistant device, with software updates, it won't connect to a monitor, but you will get Samsung dex. It's a device I really enjoy a lot especially when you get it for a good deal on sale. So seriously enjoy the heck out of it. Just keep in mind you are sort of getting a mid-range budget device

A very expensive imitation of the iPad, with no sense or thought behind it. At least the iPad has dedicated apps, designed specifically for tablets, while here it’s a complete makeshift. I don’t even like iPads, but Samsung tablets are twice as pointless. Samsung, you’d be better off making a tablet with ChromeOS, because at least there you’d have a decent operating system.

This is definitely one of the most ignorant comments possible. The multitasking on a Samsung tablet, the freedom vs iPads, or the fact that an iPad will cost you nearly $700 or $800 more if you upgrade the storage to 1TB vs buying a 1TB SD card here. The pen coming with it. This guy sees like two more optimized apps, and he sees Final cut for the iPad, and somehow a few apps automatically justify the iPad while the Galaxy tablet, which is 100x the value, somehow it's trash. Unbelievable. iPads are still great. Worth it for some. But his comment is awful
