I watched this so I can see how the app works, and as he was on the app ready to try...he explains he cannot due to the ringke. So what is the main purpose of this video? Ur ringke or the new ekg feature? My goodness.

The purpose of the video was to let you know that the update happened. I do agree with you that I should have taken the case off but I also think it's important for people to know that the EKG function does not work if you are using a case. But I do totally agree with you and I appreciate the feedback

@@sati614 Either they updated the case with a cutout or you are talking about another case or watch. For example, I have since then upgrade to the Galaxy Watch 3 and the Spigen case and Ringke case have the buttons cutout.

I also got an update this week but Samsung Health Monitor is not available. When I do a "check for update" today (9/25/20) is says "your software is up to date R820XXU1CTH8 last updated 9/23/20. Your video shows you are now on R825... so I wonder if Samsung is controlling the update availability in the USA.

For EKG the electric circuit needs to be complete through a human body. In other words a human body acts like a bulb in a circuit. Thus, there will be no work around other than removing the case because that button is a conductive button that lets you be part of the circuit.

That seems like a random question. But yes, plenty of people wear cases on their smartwatches. And there is a lot of things that could go wrong with wearing a smartwatch on your wrist. Obviously some people like the clean look without but there is some who don't.

You can update the watch with the basic updates. Unfortunately, if you want the EKG update, you'll have to do it while using a Samsung phone.

I just received my watch today. My Gear S3 Frontier battery wouldn’t last more than 8 hours and Asurion cut me a check for the retail price of the Gear S3 46mm because when I went to the Asurion ATT site, they were giving me a 40mm. Anyway, so now I’m checking out all these videos. I did the update. But I don’t have the app. Not sure why. Not a huge deal because I have the Galaxy Watch 3 as well.

About your problem with the EKG I wondered if you cut the rubber button off of the case maybe that would make it work. It sounds like you have to make contact with the metal of the button. Hi everyone, I just recently bought the Active 2 watch, I’m loving it so far, yet after installing all of the latest updates I’m still mot finding a way to do the ECG scan??? Do I need to download the app somewhere or am I missing something? There not heart rate monitoring app. I surely hope this watch can do this as it’s mainly the reason why I bought it. I bought the Active 2 watch from Costco, I’m assuming it’s the same watch lol. Please help.

The ecg function will only work with a Samsung device. So if you want that ability, you'll need to hook it up to that Samsung phone you have!

The reason why I'm asking what phone you are using is because the EKG feature will only work if you are using a Samsung device. So if you have your iPhone or another Android link to your phone you will not be able to use the EKG function.

Thought this was supposed to be active all the time, so it would notify you if your heart rate changes.. Isnt that what the Apple watch do? Whats the point of checking the ecg when you already dying? And wtf up with only for Samsung Phones..i was gonna buy this clock but not any more. Hell.

Yeah, it’s dumb. The dapple Watch makes you place your finger on the Digital Crown as well. I had to look it up. It acts as a ground when you’re doing the ECG. I do hate that you have to use only a Samsung phone though. But at the same time the Apple Watch is iPhone only so it kind of falls into that trap.

@@Alpejohn yeah. I mean you can kind of connect the Apple Watch to an android but it’s pretty much useless. As far as the Active 2, you can use it on pretty much any Android phone. You can connect it to an iPhone as well and still get pretty good function out of it. But yes, no ecg unless you use the phone that’s suppose to be for that phone

At the moment it's only getting that completely new update if you're using a samsung device. So if you're using that Xiaomi, that could explain why.

Great for someone like me with AVNRT. AV nodel reentry tachycardia. Helps me track when my heart is not in sinus rhythm. I like to work out and used to have palpitations after a elevated heart beat. Had a heart ablation done not long ago and this help me constantly check. Not as good as a 16 lead ekg but still works.

I had an ablation done for that exact thing but now im having issues again had 3 days of skipped beats one every almost 30 seconds tracked on my apple watch but now its happening at rest and lower heart rates went n had a 14 day holter monitor done now they are pvcs my cardiologist says are not dangerous but could be caused by diet etc btw my ablation was done in 2016

@@madchild2389 I was also told these palpitations are not life threatening. So they approached me with Bata blockers first. Those messed my head and ability to multi-task. It has been a year now since I had the ablation. Still get minor palpitations but nothing like the ones before surgery. I am going to just live with these ones unless they get worse over time. I did not like being awake while the surgeon was playing around in my heart... very weird feeling!!!

there's no workaround for that cuz you need to make contact with the watch on a metallic part, if you cover it with plastic then you just can't use the feature. Why you didn't take off the cover to demonstrate the process is beyond me. It takes 3 seconds.

I watched this to see how this update performs and you totally disappointed me. Since you had a case on that watch, why couldn't you remove it before making a review of this. It wouldn't have taken 1 min to do that. If it's non removable. You should have put a different title or never done this video.

Well the case was a mistake on my part for sure. I learned that you needed to have your finger to be able to ground the watch to use the EKG. But my title says we finally got the EKG update I didn’t say I was going to give you step-by-step on how to use the EKG because I at least showed how to install it and everything else and bring everyone up-to-date that it was available in the USA. But I do agree with you that I messed up as far as showing that and obviously it looks like all those watch case companies learned from their mistakes as well because all their new cases have the buttons exposed for the galaxy watch 3

Yeah we've covered that a bunch in the comment thread. I guess really the only way to get around it is to actually cut the little covers out if I still wanted to keep the case on the watch. But I have since then upgraded to the Galaxy watch 3 and all the watch case manufacturers got smart and actually have those buttons exposed now!!

Roy Florez there is no work around. The sensor is build into the button so you need to make sure it is free. What I did was grabbed an exacto knife and cut out the button on my case. It works flawlessly now and still protects my watch. You should do that if you want it.

for ecg reading your finger should touch the metal part, so the circuit closes on it. plastic casing wouldn't do that.

Yeah I figured this out shortly after posting this video. Luckily for the Galaxy watch 3 they fix this problem by not having the point of contacts covered by the case. So you get the best of both worlds.

Roy Florez yea but you can’t use any feature from a galaxy to Apple. I have a 2020 razr I like the flip phone. I have a motorcycle and just fits nice and yes it’s not the best phone in the world. I had. A galaxy too. I had iPhones too. I had watches and I only wear them for running cause I do track and field and iPhone is just much easier and beautiful and easy to use like everything is so simple and the Apple Watch is Beautiful and works with Nike running app. Just better for me but I’m a razr guy. Android is prob weaker to iOS but that’s me. I have a phone that’s worse the. A iPhone or galaxy but I like it better but iPhone is better then all. Just how it is
