Thats beacsue of battery performance only steadily getting better, or operating systems optimizing power usage only slightly better. Until we can yet lithium iron or solid state batteries, mobile performance will very steadily increase while using pretty much the same technology every year.

Well from my Z Flip 3 experience, had to trade it in for an S22 cause the screen protector peeled away after about 6 months of use and it was an eye sore to hearing dirt. As this looks improved internally, but I doubt there's any stable screen improvements sadly.
