I also traded in my flip 3 for the 5. I didn’t care for the beginner cover screen at first but when i finally got it, I fell in love. I really enjoy the pink based purple they used for the 5. Most people seem to prefer blue based purples though

I got the flip5 , but then my moms phone bricked, so I had to let her use it until she could get her own. Lol, she loves it and is excited to learn how to use it. Everyone asks her about it, and she's always showing it off. I ordered the sleepydaze rainydaze case from casetify, and it's coming monday. @ronetired in my opinion, cons are: The flexible screen, you have to be mindful, but you don't have to baby it. No telephoto lens. No s-pin capability. The battery is smaller and has no dex support. Pros are: attention grabber, the cover screen is very useful, super customizable, the new gapless henge looks so much better. You have a hands-free selfie, and you can use the front camera while using the cover screen as the viewfinder. And it's hella cute. A solution for the battery is that there's a magsafe compatible case that you can use a battery pack with.

@yellowferret the first few days the battery lost its juice quickly. but i'd say around day 3 or 4 the battery started to last longer. apparently that's a android thing, it starts to save battery based on how you use your phone. for me, it has last me as normally as my iphone 14 did, which was all day. i normally use my phone for spotify, YT and twitter.

@mxlo8713 hey there! Yes, it is a big change. BUT, I'm enjoying it! The home button takes some getting used to though. But I like how apps feel and operate. And I love typing in the RCS chat with other Android user friends of mine and being able to use my PC for texting similar to how Apple users can iMessage from Apple products. I think this is worth it and such a change that it's exciting and a new experience which is what I was looking for. I would encourage you, but only you know what's best for you I'd listen to people with the phone you want and they'll usually be honest with you. But some could also want to gatekeep it (which is dumb), but it happens. Good luck!

Hey @@fuckegoist, that's totally reasonable. I feel like the Flip 5 was a great introduction back into the Samsung ecosystem from the Apple one. The flip gimmick keeps me interested while letting me get used to Samsung/Android functionality. I am for sure sticking with Samsung going into 2024. I'm just questioning if I'll stick with the Flip variant (Flip 6 if this model continues), or another flagship like the S-whatever or Fold 6 (if that also continues). As of now, having owned the Flip 5 for about 3 months, I am going to stay Samsung because my initial investment of buying the phone is going to continue because of Samsung's trade-in values. My Flip 5 will be mint condition by August 2024 for the next phone release, and it will almost surely pay for my next Samsung entirely. I would encourage you to get the Flip 5 as a way to introduce yourself to Samsung, BUT I would advise you to please do what is best for you financially! I hope this helped you and anyone else who has read it! :3

This looks like such a cute phone!! I cant wait to get one when my contract ends. I have one question though.. what's the longevity when it comes to the screen. I heard that the fold wears down after time and you cant have one for very long
