This is true. Even Motorola kept prices the same on the razr+ 2024. Not to mention, the razr 2024 starts at $699.

Seems to be a big update coming from my Flip4, which I have loved using. The only things I would have wanted would have been a 120hz front screen, and 1TB storage option. Plus, the pre-order deals and trade-in values were too good to pass up. Looking forward to receiving it!

You are right. Foldables were suppose to get cheaper with iterations, but did not. Reason is not inflation. Its company’s need of milking as much as possible to stand on the same footing as competitor. If it was inflation, there would not be any discounts (of almost 40%). No company would sell devices at a loss

So I bought the S24 Ultra when it came out and am very happy with it. I appreciate some of the tech specs of the Z Flip 6 which you mentioned, but I can't help the nagging feeling that, at least in part, Samsung's intention with the Flip was to appeal to that portion of the phone buying public for whom having and very publicly displaying that they have the latest and most fashionable phone is of great importance. You know, like those hipsters who line up for hours outside an Apple store to see and be seen, hence the carefully selected neck scarf they wear for much the same reason people pay for skywriting that basically proclaims "I'm here! Look at me! I'm all that and a bag of chips!" ;-) I don't know, my S24 Ultra does everything I need and I just personally can't see spending money on a flip phone which, while perhaps indeed having certain tech specs that are legitimately interesting, just screams "Check me out! Check me out!" Just one man's perspective. A bald man with a penchant for toasted bagels with cream cheese, if I'm being honest. :-0

I think it's a great form-factor. I just wish the screen weren't so long and stupid on all modern phone. And these flip (and new Razr) phone aren't quite as pocketable as one would hope. they are quite chunky when folded. I want a foldable that when folded, is as thin as a normal phone, for ultimate pocketability.

Did I hear you correctly when you said that the Z Flip 6 is on par battery-wise with the S24 Ultra? This is a major deciding factor on which of the 2 I'll get. Also, I don't understand why the Fold 6 doesn't have the best cameras and battery life, considering its astronomical price point.

That's the mistake I made with Z Fold 3. My screen didn't even crack. I had it for 3 months and all of a sudden a white line appeared across the screen. So I had to send it back to Samsung for them to determine what's wrong. Now I paid the full amount for the phone, I believe rounded out I spent $1,800 for it. So they sent it pack with a quote saying they would repair for $500 almost $600. Not a scratch or dent on the phone. I never once dropped it. I had the otterbox case. I haven't bought a fold since. And I loved the phone. I have the fold 6 because I couldn't bring myself to spend $2,000 for the phone after the previous experience I had.

Thanks for this review, as prospective purchaser, I'm still not totally convinced. I really prefer the design and feel of the Motorola but it seems even the new upgrade will not improve things much. Should I wait for the Ultra 60 ! 😃

I've had the Flip 6 for about 4 days now. My first Flip. I am disapointed with the wireless charging. It drains sitting on a wireless charger with no running apps. I am considering switching before its too late.

Is it only my flip 6 that gets overheat quickly? Like I just take several photos indoor literally in cool place but it gets overheat? Also when I record video even less than 2 min it starts to overheat. I just got mine a month and a half and this issue happened from the start. I don't use it for games. I also don't use it for my main phone so I don't install many apps. It's so annoying with overheating problem.

Love the look of this phone...until you put a case on it. And yet, i wouldnt trust the phone without a case. I hear about these flip phones failing to open completely flat over time. Just feels like theres so much more things that can go wrong over a normal phone.

The US preorder deal this year sucks after the stellar ones for the last few. I traded in my 3 for a 4 ($900 credit) costing me only $100 to upgrade. Same with trading in my 4 for the 5 last year. This year? I only get $600 credit) on an $1100 phone. Sorry, but this update is not worth $500 to me. I've enjoyed the flip series, but I think I've had my fun with this venture. I'd love to try a Fold, but the price is astronomical for what it is. If I'm going to blow two grand it'll be on a gaming laptop, not an iPad that can fold in half and make a phone call.
