Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 Art Review - 1 Month Later: Best Foldable For Art!

I've been using the Z Fold 5 for a month now. Are there any other Z Fold art users out there? What are your thoughts?

I love always having a drawing tablet in my pocket. I had a Fold 3 and then a Fold 4 and plan on using it for as long as possible.

@@Roosader it's honestly the best digital sketchbook on the go. Seeing the models Samsung showed off with a built in Spen and wider screen makes me think the next release will be a big change.

@@C.Wilson I'm a bit apprehensive of the rollable display ideas, but I do love how compact they look. The G Fold concepts are really interesting to me though. I think the size of the Z Fold 3/4/5 is good enough, but I agree with you saying in the video that if they made the front screen bigger that that'd be ideal and would also make the inner display bigger. The Honor Magic V2 is probably the ideal form factor to me (about the size of an iPhone 14 Pro Max but also lighter) and also supports the pen on both displays.

I love my fold 4, all the changes on the fold 5 are just nitpicking in my opinion. Together with the Spigen slim fold case where you attach the s pen to the side of the phone it is simply perfect. The crease doesn`t bother me at all. A worthy upgrade to the Samsung note series.

I get that. Just keep checking the Samsung store. They usually have a lot of discounts and deals. Especially if you have a trade-in phone. (Samsung exclusive, I believe) just a few days ago I got a zfold 5 w a $1,000 discount.

Great Channel man! Are the Z Fold and S Ultra series the only phones with pressure sensitivity. I want a phone I can draw on but if any other company (Xiaomi, Google etc) makes a cheaper one that would be great.

After time, does the pen leave dents and scratches on the inner display??

@@CoyotePark Yes over time you'll see a few marks. Nothing too crazy unless you're heavy handed.

Does the crease in the middle when the phone is opened affect drawing at all? Like say you run the stylus across the display to make a line on your art, does it dip down into the crease?

Yes, the crease if you attempt to draw slowly causes the S-Pen to dip down. If you go fast you won't experience it. It does tend to get annoying for line art. Sketching not as much.

For me it has no effect I can't even feel it when I draw and it doesnt effect the line atleast for. The softer glass makes it easier to draw for me than the ultra devices or any other tablet .

No it'll damage the screen. You'll need either the fold edition s-pen or the $99 spen that has a button to change it to a fold safe spen tip.

no gonna lie it's a nice phone ... but i will never use it for art and it's not convenient at all . i think in my country is around 2000 euro for that price you can buy a huge cintiq / a android tablet with pen , a ipad pro or a surface studio laptop i don't know if it's worth so much to be honest . Nice review tho 😊

I 100% agree. This is a luxury device for someone who wants their smartphone to be an all-in-one computer and drawing tablet. In the end, as you've mentioned Cintiq/Galaxy Tab/iPad/Surface Pro & Studio lineup will get you much further. Thanks for watching! 👍

@@C.WilsonI’m conflicted on this. I draw a lot and edit photos and I find the fold very convenient as well as having fed which is really useful.and the camera are at least better than any Samsung tablets. Idk about iPads. But it’s also big. I’m thinking abt the flip5 bc the small screen is really fun and convenient to put down your phone and reduce your screen time. But then I would also have to buy a separate tablet to draw (I still don’t know if I should choose a Samsung or ipad)

I notice I like to disconnect more from the phone aspect when drawing. Then every minor issue becomes bigger when drawing. For example size, I'd wish the tablet form Factor was larger or even sometimes when the crease messes up a line. It is small but builds up. Personally I like the option of both. Sketching when needed and something of a surface or iPad for my clean-up or animation. If you're on the go a lot and less stationary then a fold is great. If not and you find yourself more in an office-like setting most of the day a flip and iPad could be better.

For full art obviously not comfortable to use but it’s a good sketchbook. Connect it to cloud storage and you can continue that sketches into full artwork on your pc.
