I changed my battery and ripped that cable out by accident. I stuck it back in place as best I could with the adhesive that was on it and no soldering and it works but the back button isn't working. Not sure how you were able to solder this without it bleeding over between each line.

Ηello there! Does anybody know if when replacing the motherboard on a Samsung S3 classic, the entire watch needs to be reprogrammed from an authorised service in order to function properly? I replaced my battery and unfortunately when I separated the mother board I pulled the power/back cable off the mainboard. It appears the cable is intact but how did you get the cable to stay in place while you soldered it. Also how did you get the solder on the lines on the motherboard without touching the other lines? Also what was that copper looking cable you put over the ribbon cable and then heated it with the soldering iron? Great video by the way.

@stevenphotog4594. The OP didn't seem to answer your question so let me try. The key to any successful solder is ensure you use flux and you tin both the motherboard as well as the new cable. It also helps to ensure you have a fine solder tip. The process is this...start by adding flux to the new cable where the solder will be applied. Then add flux to the motherboard as well. Afterwards, tin your solder tip and make sure you have a good coating of solder but not too thick on the tip. Then apply that coating to the new wire; the flux will ensure the solder stays on the contact point and nothing else. Then re-tin the solder tip and add it to the motherboard. Add flux again to the mother board and new wire. Now comes the tricky part, hold the motherboard in place by using some board grip/vice. Then align the new wire connection to the motherboard and solder them together. The new cable will have some adhesive to help ensure it doesn't move. If you tin the solder tip, you should be able to make a good connection as the flux will keep the solder in place. Hope this helps.
