Thank you, Garcia. I had lost the aerial signal, but knew it wasn't the aerial, as that worked through a set top box. I thought a factory reset might fix it, and you have supplied the code to allow me to do so. We bought the unit in Dec 2015, and the code was Info, Menu, Mute, Power. All working fine,now.

Bought a Samsung TV from Craigslist that had all sorts of nasty photos stored in Samsung Link. Since I did not have former owners password I could not delete them, this factory reset took care of the problem...wiping both the photos and the account from the TV memory! Thanks!

Thanks Garcia, I found your video very useful having just bought a Samsung UE48JU6500 and having already encountered a few problems i.e.. not allowing 'Silverlight' to run, so can't use Netflix, Unable to Sign-in to the KZbin App as the activation key appears impossible to enter and no sound when connected to Sound Bar with Humax HDR turned on. So I may well need Factory Reset if I decide 'enough's enough' and send it back to retailer.

Thank You for this. Unfortunately, neither of your reset instructions worked. A friend suggested I try... 'Power to turn TV ON...... Point Remote Control at TV and Hold down 'EXIT' button for 12 seconds or until 'Resets all settings to the default values' Menu appears. Press 'Left Arrow' button to Highlight 'OK' press 'ENTER' button to turn TV OFF. Press 'POWER' Button to turn TV back on. You can now reconfigure your TV as if you've just got it out of the box. (This worked for my TV and I also kept a note of my PIN and Passwords on my Mobile Phone and Tablet in case I forget them again lol)

I have lost my sharp aquos remote so I've been trying several universal remotes to try and access the settings soi can run channel scan. The settings screen appears but u can't click enter and go into it. It will highlight over every area but no button works to enter into it. Any advice? This is an older led or lcd.

Your TV looks like mine: Samsung Smart TV 2011 model UN55D8000YFXZA. Problem occurred after the Factory Reset. I cannot power off the TV with either Samsung Remote. Also, I cannot enter Source. At local Best Buy I tested my Qwerty two-sided remote on Samsung TV floor models, powering three of them on and off at once. I opened up Menu to System where I could see the Reset, but Reset was not in my TV's Menu, System. I only could use that secret menu to do reset. A Best Buy TV geek told me to do the Factory Data Reset. I will try it again to see if my whole system works again, Remotes and all, including finding that Bluetooth. I did see the initials BT several times in the secret service menu but nothing to gain access for my headset. Going back into the secret menu Samsung Matrix. Pray the sentinels do not catch me. BTW: how do you get the 4-digit security code for the TV?
