@@Bellaire_Isaac Faster connection speeds, faster charging, the fact _everyone else_ uses it so there's no more asking for specifically a Lightning charger, it allows companies to more easily make accessories for iPhone because they don't have to pay Apple royalties to use Lightning. And with those accessories, they can use the faster transfer speeds in a way Lightning couldn't because USB-C has more pins to send the data

But instead of forcing apple to conform to one form factor standard could they not just set a minimum speed limit? I (personally) also don't see the point of everyone else uses usb-c as a reason that apple Should switch. Like does that mean that they now have to get rid of mag safe charging for MacBooks and switch to usb-c again? What does this mean for windows computers? Do they have to change to be usb-c? I know that the first part is just my opinion and to clarify I am not arguing Against switching to usb-c I just don't see why they should Have to. I also know that I am crossing a line in the second part, I just don't know what that line is. If the line is between mobile devices and computers then I don't really see the logic for the line. If you are mandating that all products in one category be universal then why not the other. Especially when all the different computer adapters are even more confusing then the mobile cables.

@@Bellaire_Isaac @Bellaire_Isaac Well I agree forcing companies to do something isn't always best practice, and there certainly is an argument to be made about government overreach, I don't see any way Apple was changing the Lighting port. Something millions of people have not only been asking for, but people have switched over because of it. Setting a minimum isn't the point, it's to increase compatability. It's so you only need one type of cable for all your devices, and manufacturers only need to worry about making that one cable. Aa for Windows devices, most already have USB-C. They have both USB-C _and_ USB-A for older devices to keep backwards compatibility.

I know my galaxy phone is far from perfect, but it does everything I need it to do and it's easy to customize and use. I tried so hard to like my iphone 6 and mac mini, I really did. I think taking this angle at targeting iphone users won't work. Most iPhone users don't want or care about the hardware advancements of Galaxy devices. What they like is how good and seamless iPhone's software and OS is. iPhone has iMessage and Facetime most importantly; among many other things that work seamlessly within Apple's walled garden. If any Android manufacturer has a shot at taking market share from iPhone people it's Google's Pixel line if they can just perfect it. But even then it's a longshot

This is hilarious! I work at AT&T and I always see Samsung and Apple fan boys arguing like these companies are paying then to argue 😒 that being said, Samsung is the better phone. Especially with the launch of the S24 Ultra with AI chip. Apple is behind Samsung at this point. Albeit, when iPhone finally get tech that's been out for years they usually incorporate it pretty well but iphones just feel so boring. I usually go back and forth but I think the iphone 13PM will be the last iphone I own for a while. Loving my Samsung.

Once you go galaxy, you cant go back lol. Waterproof. NFC. Bigger screen. Widzets. Battery percentage. Faster charging. Wireless charging. Multi cameras. Multi tasking. It's not unwarranted, and it's not just Samsung. There's a bunch of companies that run Android, to the point that there's an android phone for every need. If you really thought about the device, you'd get one that suits your needs without adding so much it over inflates the price(why by a Lamborghini, when you just need a Civic for groceries?) Also, Apple has been slouching for years now. With the plateau of smartphones these days, it's hard for Apple to stand out. I mean, the best example is Lightning vs. USB-C. It's only recently, and because the EU forced Apple's hand, did they finally decide to switch to the universal standard that's been out for almost a decade. A standard they themselves worked in and used in their other products. Android as a whole has just as sleek designs, are tougher than Apple and doesn't have their reputation if being fragile, are super fast, and _way_ more customizable than iOS. I mean, how could you even say that last one? Not that Apple is bad in anyway, but Andriod phones take the cake in so many more ways. The iPhone is the phone for everyone, but there's an Android phone that's _for_ everyone

I was pretty much an Apple fan. Had an iPhone 5s some years ago (2017 more or less), which died from water damage (fell on the toilet lmao). After that, I got a Samsung A7 because everyone told me it was better. I could basically feel it "dying" while I used it. It got visibly slower, and the battery eventually died some months ago. Went back to Apple for an iPhone SE and I do not regret it a bit. I do not need a foldable phone or a giant screen (which most phones have now to be fair), and Apple really keeps their phone designs ergonomic and useful until this day. Not to mention that Samsung is now applying stuff they used to mock on iPhones. Still an Apple fan after all these years.

Samsung would do what Apple does if it was in it's position too. In fact it copies Apple whenever it can (in the worse way). Apple gets rid of headphone jack. Samsung criticizes it for a few months then does the same thing. Apple gets rid of the charger. Samsung criticizes it for a few months then does the same thing. Rinse and repeat. Only reason Samsung makes folding phones is they are desperate to compete with Apple who has the market share.
