finally i SOLVED I just suggest all ppl before do that take on "wish" air solder for cheap 23 euro only! then heating this power manager 340 grade C around it for max 60 sec So withouth replace ic first! Often PManager resume is work ( due ball below IC soldered re-taking live) cost of chip is very cheap ... around 3- 4 euro ( google PM for smartphone)

after all the ridiculous forums that say clean usb port with toothbrush, and clear cache. this helped mostly. i still dont understand however why it works when i put a new usb port flex, temporarily.

good vid great music. i fixed my problem by heat gunning this and u857 on the arm. also i found with a microscope that right next to where the battery connect pins are, to the right of them is a small cluster with a small black ic called 8W** to the right of that are two small fuses that appeared burnt out. i applied a small amount of flux and coated the 2 fuses with solder to jumper them. it worked so far. was showing charging but battery level was declining. now it is increasing.

How hot do you run your air gun? How long should you apply heat to the chip before you can remove it? Do you apply solder paste or flux at first to remove the chip?

What temperature setting are you using on the heat gun? I tried desoldering a PM8941 and had to go up to 320c and turn up the aairflow rate before it came loose. This was on a Sony Z1s board which is very dense

It's soldering flux . Kind of grease you need to use it before any solder work . You can only buy it from electronic shop

It depends on whether you used the same old solder on the boards or replaced it with leaded solder. Not sure on this device but most manufactures use non leaded solder on the BGA Pads, or POWER IC chip in this instance, which eventually oxidize from thermo changes on the motherboards and don't make contact to the logic board or short out the BGA component. So if you use the same solder it had, expect the same life it had before it went out, but if you use leaded it should last longer. Maybe some other component that was not replaced might go out way before the power IC does again.

The Average Beauty I'm willing to bet ur note 4 issue is with the eMMC chip rather than ic. Google note 4 emmc n ull see the 1st thing that pops up is about a class action lawsuit filed against Samsung over them selling faulty note 4s with bad eMMC chips. I've got a note 4 that won't turn on but for awhile b4 it gave out it would sometimes come on with the android robot showing downloading do not turn off or something like that n at the very top in smaller letters it'd say eMMC read failed.. random power offs n tons of aggravation! anyway, I haven't been able to find a eMMC chip 2 save my life but even if I did I'm almost positive I wldnt be able 2 successfully replace it myself since I dont own the correct tools. anyway, do that Google search!

The Average Beauty and 2 answer ur question.. the "glue" is called flux and it's actually not a glue.. its something that's has to be used when soldering bc of the extreme heat the metals are exposed to.. there's more to it than that but I won't get into full definitions.. pretty much unless you've got knowledge of how electrical components work along with experience working on circuit boards AND have all the tools 2 properly do this stuff (which I do not & I'm assuming u don't either) we would be much better off just replacing the motherboard which doesn't require soldering etc so theres FAR less room for error. I'm just having a hard time deciding whether 2 get a motherboard for $50 or getting a diff phone altogether & maybe selling my note for parts.

I've seen people selling theirs on eBay with a bad chip n all for upwards of $40! n ppl were actually buying em too. after learning of this scam on Samsung's part I've joined the group of ppl who refuse to buy anymore Samsung devices. I've also read too many horror stories from ppl who've been done dirty by Samsung when they contacted their customer service about fixing this prob they knowingly created. I had a pretty good feeling u had more than likely got another phone since it said ur comment was from a mt ago but thought u might still have it put up sumwere.

I have a similar problem... My note 3 stopped working suddenly and does not power up.. Checked battery using multimeter and value was 0. Tried to charge it in same phone but there was no luck, however it became hot under the camera... Charged battery using different phone and tried but no luck again... Used multimeter to check if there is power supply at battery connector pin with charger plugged in and values there where 0 Could you please assist me with possible causes for this 🙏 Thank you in advance.

after this, the power button can turn on / off the screen and turn off/ reboot the phone? my phone got water damaged and no screen off/ screen on, power off or reboot works. only power on, download mode and recovery. i hard reset it, changed the power button (psuhicaly, buy a new one, with a motor as well), but the phone wont fully work. any ideas how to fix this? a gsm repairman say it cant be repaired, whatta loser...

i belive i have the same problem. when you experiment, check charger current via galaxy charging current app and get over 100ma from usb cord, cor is good, then you make sure battery is ok, then you change port, port works for one day or week, then stops charging again. i have been through 5 usb ports, some i exchanged some i buy for 8usd. still no good. have to buy this part, or a new phone now.
