Looking for confirmation.. I've been running my Xbox one x through my Yamaha 4k AV receiver, and then into port 3 of my qn90 for a while.. and it's been good for me. I just picked up a Series X.. and during the process of hooking up the new one, I started looking into the setup again. Right now I have it the same way as mentioned previously.. but now I have the Series X into port 4 of the qn90. This was supposed to be temporary while I did my file transfers, but now I'm wondering if I should leave the Series X in port 4 for 120hz.. and when I disconnect the older one x.. leave the AV receiver as is on port 3 of the qn90.. so I can use earc for streaming apps. My original plan was to just replace the one x with the series x and continue to use port 3...I'm thinking that's a subpar setup now.. and it should be series x into port 4 for gaming and AC receiver into port 3 for audio for both gaming and streaming apps from tv.. basically how you should setup 4 I believe. Correct?

So I'm confused...I typically run my Series X through my Yamaha receiver (which allows for HDMI 2.1 & 4K pass-through) to HDMI input 3 on my QN90A to take advantage of the ARC feature, but by doing so, I'm not getting the benefits of actual HDMI 2.1 due to not connecting to HDMI 4 on the QN90A....what's the best solution here? How can I get HDMI 2.1 and ARC?

Sorry if this has been discussed before but couldn’t find it in the comments. I plan to connect my series X to HDMI 4 which is HDMI 2.1. Does HDMI port 3 pass thru Dolby Atmos to a sound bar via eARC? Or not since the port is only HDMI 2.0?
@techbuddy53052 жыл бұрын
Yes it does. If you look on the back of the TV you’ll see that port 3 is labeled as eARC. Once you connect the HDMI cable in port 3 you’ll have to go to your Sound>Expert Settings and select the Pass Through option.

@D M Just Samsung being greedy on not including it for consumers. They don't want to pay for the fee for Dolby Vision and wants to keep supporting their own HDR10+ format.
